Some days passed, and the tension that had hung in the air between Heeseung and Sunghoon gradually began to settle.

Though their conversations were still tentative, a fragile understanding had formed between them.

But the weight of everything still lingered in the corners of Heeseung’s mind.

He knew things couldn’t continue like this indefinitely.
He couldn’t stay cooped up in the apartment, avoiding the world and his responsibilities.

He had classes to attend, a life outside these walls that he couldn’t ignore any longer.

Sunghoon, however, was struggling with his own internal battle.

As much as he wanted to keep Heeseung close, the thought of letting him leave the house gnawed at him.

Fear and possessiveness warred with his desire to see Heeseung happy.

But every time he saw the distant look in Heeseung’s eyes, the restlessness that seemed to grow by the day, Sunghoon knew he couldn’t hold him captive in here forever.

Heeseung needed to breathe.
He needed to live.

And as much as it scared him, Sunghoon couldn’t stand to see Heeseung so weighed down by everything.

He didn't want to be the cause of Heeseung’s unhappiness.

So, one morning, Sunghoon woke early.

He stood in the quiet of their room, the soft glow of dawn filtering through the curtains, casting gentle light across Heeseung’s sleeping form.

His chest tightened with conflicting emotions.
He wanted to protect Heeseung, to shield him from everything outside.

But he also knew he couldn’t keep him trapped, no matter how much he wanted to.

With a soft sigh, Sunghoon knelt beside him, carefully brushing a few strands of hair away from Heeseung’s forehead.

Heeseung stirred slightly but didn’t wake.
For a moment, Sunghoon just watched him, his heart heavy.

He hated this.
Hated that he was the cause of so much of Heeseung’s confusion.
But at the same time, he couldn’t bear to let go.

Gently, he placed a hand on Heeseung’s shoulder, giving him a light shake.
“Hey..time to get up.”
Sunghoon whispered.

Heeseung groaned softly, blinking his eyes open.

His gaze met Sunghoon’s, still hazy with sleep, but there was something else there too.
Surprise.

“What time is it?”
Heeseung mumbled, rubbing his eyes.

“Early.”
Sunghoon replied with a small smile, though there was a nervousness in his eyes.
“But you..you have class today. I figured you should get ready.”

Heeseung blinked in surprise, his mind still catching up.

For the past few days, he hadn’t even thought about leaving the apartment.

“You’re okay with me going?” Heeseung asked hesitantly, his voice uncertain.

Sunghoon’s smile faltered for a second, but he quickly masked it. “Yeah.”
He said softly, though there was an edge of reluctance in his tone.
“I mean, you can’t stay here forever, right?”

Heeseung sat up, studying Sunghoon’s face carefully.

He could see the conflict in Sunghoon’s eyes.
The desire to keep him safe, keep him close, but also the understanding that this wasn’t sustainable.
