After the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, Jay and Jake were quick to corner Heeseung at the entrance of the building.

Their insistence was palpable, their concern still lingering from the earlier encounters.

"Come on, Heeseung. Just one drink with us."
Jake pleaded, his eyes full of hope. “It’s been ages since we hung out properly, and we’ve missed you.”

Jay chimed in, his voice softer but just as persistent.
"Yeah, we just want to catch up. It’s not the same without you."

Heeseung hesitated, feeling the weight of their expectations pressing down on him.

He appreciated their concern, but his mind was elsewhere.

Every fiber of his being ached to be back with Sunghoon.

It was an unsettling feeling, knowing that even though he was free now, he still yearned for Sunghoon’s touch, his presence.

“I can’t today, guys.”
Heeseung replied, forcing a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

Jake frowned, crossing his arms.
“You never stay with us anymore. Is it because of him?”
The tone in his voice was laced with frustration, though he didn’t name Sunghoon.

Heeseung glanced away, uneasy.

He knew Sunghoon well enough now to understand the lengths he might go to if he felt threatened.

If he thought Jay or Jake were pulling Heeseung away from him.

Heeseung had no doubt that Sunghoon had the power to make their lives difficult.
Just the thought of it made his stomach twist.

But that wasn’t the only reason he refused.

Deep down, Heeseung missed Sunghoon, as strange as it felt to admit.

He missed the way Sunghoon held him, the way he whispered promises of safety and protection.

It was a need that unsettled him.
How badly he wanted to be back in Sunghoon’s arms.

“I’m sorry.”
Heeseung said quietly, his voice almost a whisper.
“Maybe next time.”

Jay gave him a puzzled look. “Heeseung, you don’t have to go back. You can stay with us..”

Heeseung forced another smile, shaking his head.
“I’ll be fine. I just need to head home.”

Both Jake and Jay exchanged glances, their worry evident, but they didn’t push further.

Jake sighed heavily. “Just be careful, okay?”

“Yeah.”
Jay added, his eyes scanning Heeseung’s face for any signs of distress.
“We’re always here if you need us.”

Heeseung nodded gratefully, feeling a swell of guilt for hiding the truth. “Thanks, guys. I’ll see you soon.”

As he turned away, walking toward the exit, all he could think about was Sunghoon.

The craving for his presence, his touch, grew stronger with each step, and Heeseung knew.

No matter how complicated it was.
He couldn’t deny how much he needed Sunghoon.

Heeseung didn’t bother checking his phone as it buzzed repeatedly in his pocket.

His feet pounded the pavement as he raced through the streets, heart hammering with urgency.

Sunghoon’s calls and texts went unanswered, not because Heeseung didn’t care, but because nothing mattered except getting home to him.

By the time Heeseung reached their place, his chest was heaving, but he didn’t slow down.
