Days passed with Heeseung confined to Sunghoon's apartment, the walls closing in on him despite the luxury that surrounded him.
Sunghoon ensured Heeseung had everything he could possibly need.
But something was missing, something intangible that no amount of material comfort could replace.
Heeseung's vibrant spirit began to dull.
He missed the freedom of his old life, the simple joy of meeting friends, of going to college, the laughter shared over casual conversations.
Each day felt heavier than the last, and his once bright eyes now held a shadow of sadness.
One evening, Sunghoon came home from work and found Heeseung at the dining table, sketching.
The room was filled with art supplies Sunghoon had bought out of his desire to make Heeseung happy.
Yet, as Sunghoon watched him draw, he couldn't ignore the melancholy that clung to Heeseung like a second skin.
Heeseung sensed Sunghoon's gaze and looked up, forcing a smile that didn't reach his eyes.
It was a small, fragile thing, more an attempt to reassure Sunghoon than a reflection of his true feelings.
Sunghoon's heart clenched at the sight.
He couldn't stand seeing Heeseung like this, his vibrant energy dimmed by something Sunghoon couldn't quite grasp.
Determined to get to the bottom of it, he stood and approached Heeseung.
Heeseung felt Sunghoon's presence grow closer, his movements slow and deliberate.
Sunghoon gently placed his fingers under Heeseung's jaw, tilting his head up to meet his gaze.
"What's bothering you, beautiful?" Sunghoon asked, his voice a soft murmur filled with concern.
"You seem so sad."Heeseung took a deep breath, gathering the courage to voice the feelings he had been hiding.
“I miss...everything," he began softly, his voice quivering.
"I miss going to college, seeing my friends, streaming, and just... living my life. But- it’s okay, because I don’t want to leave your side.”Sunghoon sighed, his expression pensive as he absorbed Heeseung’s words.
He knew he had been keeping Heeseung close out of his own desire to protect and possess him, but he hadn’t realized the extent of Heeseung’s longing for the outside world.
The thought of Heeseung feeling trapped and isolated pained him deeply.
Leaning down, Sunghoon pressed a tender kiss to Heeseung’s lips, a silent apology and promise wrapped in the gesture.
He could feel Heeseung’s tension melt away, even if just for a moment.
When he pulled back, Sunghoon stood close, his eyes searching Heeseung’s face.
“I trust you, Heeseung.”
He said, his voice gentle.
He tilted his head slightly, his gaze intense.
“You can go to college, meet your friends, and even stream if you want to. But I want you to do it from here, where I know you're safe.”Heeseung’s eyes widened in surprise, disbelief present in his expression. “Really?”
He whispered, his voice barely audible.Sunghoon nodded, his hand moving to cup Heeseung’s cheek.
“Yes. We can set everything up here. You can have your freedom and still be with me. I want you to be happy, Heeseung, truly happy.”Tears welled up in Heeseung’s eyes, but this time they were tears of relief and joy.
He threw his arms around Sunghoon, hugging him tightly.
“Thank you.” he whispered against Sunghoon’s chest, his voice thick with emotion.
“Thank you so much.”
