Chapter 29- Nightmare

Zee couldn't sleep. It was past two in the morning and he was still awake. He got up to check on the twins seeing that they are fast asleep. Zach kicked himself open and Zee covered him with his blanket again. Zoe was fast asleep giving cute little baby snores. He then went to check on Nunew. He saw Nunew also kicked himself open and went inside to cover him as well. He could not help to notice those smooth milky white thighs that he tried to avoid looking at earlier while bathing Nunew. He gulped as desire started stirring. It's been five years since he had any intimate relations. The last person he made love to was Nunew. He knows he will never be able to give himself to someone else. It's just Nunew for him. He walked out and went to the kitchen to make himself a cupmof herbal tea. Maybe that will help him sleep he thought. He was sitting at the kitchen table sipping his tea thinking how to ask Nunew if his parents can come visit. They miss him so much and wanted to meet their grandchildren. He was deep in thought when he heard someone whimpering. He quickly stood up thinking it was one of the kids. As he went down the hall he heard it was Nunew. He went into his room and saw Nunew thrashing in his bed. He is having a nightmare Zee realsied. He quickly went over to the bed and gently shook Nunew to wake him up. Nunew didn't wake up. He kept mumbling incoherent words. Zee could not understand what Nunew was saying and kept trying to wake him. Nunew then started to cry. He was shaking so bad then Zee heard what he was saying. He was begging his mom to stop hitting him. Telling her that it's hurting so bad. The next words hit Zee like a train. Nunew started calling him. Begging him to help him. Zee realised that Nunew is reliving the past and only now realised how much was hidden from him. Nunew called for him when he was beaten. He didn't know. He didn't know. He pulled Nunew into a hug crying with him. His baby went through hell and he was living the high life of being one of the most popular boys in school. Oh how he failed his Nhu. He rubbed his back cooing him. Telling him to breath. After holding him for a long time Nunew finally stopped crying but he was still clinging to Zee. He then spoke with a very tired voice. I called for you Hia he said. Everytime they hit me I called for you. You didn't come. I needed you. I didn't know Nhu I'm sorry but I didn't know. I promise I will never let them hurt you again.

Tney are here Nunew told Zee. What do you mean Zee asked? I saw them at the hospital today when I was discharged. She shouted at me and I could feel all the pain again. They are back Hia. They want to hurt me again. They will take my children Hia. Nunew started to hyperventilate again holding tight onto Zee. He doesn't even realize he is clinging onto the man he swore he would never trust again. Zee promised him again that he would not allow anyone to hurt him or the children. He will keep them safe. After almost and hour Zee could feel Nunew's grip on him has loosened and realised that he fell asleep. He contemplated on laying Nunew down and going back to the couch or staying here with him. As he was trying to extract himself from Nunew he heard a soft sob and Nunew saying Don't hurt me please Hia. Don't leave me again. Zee looked at the beauty in his arms and vowed that even it it takes decades he will make Nunew trust him again. He knows Nunew still loves him but is scared to trust him again. In the meantime he will make sure that he show him that he loves him and the children. He will show him in every way possible.

He scooted down and take Nunew in his arm letting is head rest on his chest. He makes sure Nunew lays comfortably before he closes his eyes. Tomorrow morning he needs to make a few phone calls to prevent Nunew's parents finding  out where Nunew lives and that he now has children. He tucked Nunew in his neck and promptly fell asleep.

Zee woke up hearing giggles next to him. The twins were in bed with them wide awake. Mommy is angry with you Zoe giggled. Zee instantly felt a coldness come over him. He looked down at Nunew still tucked in his arm and froze. Nunew was glaring at him with such ferocity that he could not move at all he just looked at him to scared to say anything. Then their cheeky son said Daddy kiss mommy's frown away. Mommy do that with us. They then kept giggling. Don't you dare Nunew said through his teeth. And what the heck are you doing in my bed? Do you think I'm easy? Did you think you can have your way with me after I allowed your to see me naked and bath me. I'm not easy nor cheap Zee. Zee was stunned. He didn't know what to say or how to react. Nunew obviously don't remember what happened during the night. He is misunderstanding the whole situation He slowly extract himself from Nunew and got up. He then faced Nunew and bowed to him and apologized for his actions and for crossing the line.Zee then took the children amd left the room. Zee in fact didn't cross any line and Nunew knew that. He remembers his nightmare  and how Zee took care of him and calmed him down. He remembers everything but will not admit that he seeked Zee's comfort when he was scared.  So he let Zee believe that he doesn't remember anything. It was safer that way for him. He turned on his side facing the windows. His mind on his parents again. Why are they here? Did they find out where he was and came after him? He was still thinking when he heard a soft knock on the door. He turned around and saw Zee standing in the door. Are you going to have breakfast with the kids or should a bring a tray in the room? And please let me know when you need to go to bathroom, I am available to assist you Zee told him. Zee then stood there waiting for an answer. He was standing straight but his eyes were lowered. It was as he saw himself as a lower class than Nunew and was not  allowed to look at him. Nunew as proud as he has gotten asked Zee to bring the crutches that he got at the hospital and that he can do his morning routine on his own. Zee went to bring him the crutches and left the room again. 

Nunew sat there feeling ashamed of his behavior. He doesn't trust the man but it's wrong to accuse him of things he didn't do. He tries to think of how to apologize. He don't want to admit that it felt good to be in his arms again. He felt peaceful. No Nunew No he scolded himself. You can't afford to get mushy over Zee Panich. The man is bound to hurt you again. He sighed and got up using the crutches. It was difficult because he never used it before but hell will freeze over before he asked Zee for help. He needs to get used to doing things on his own. He has done it for years. He doesn't need Zee. He is nothing but the father of his children. Nothing more. After Nunew finished his morning routine he joined the children in the dining room. They were patiently waiting on him to eat. Why did you let the children wait he asked Zee in an annoyed tone. They refused to eat without you at the table. Last night was the first time in a while that they could sit with you for a meal. They missed you. Zee stood up and dished for every one. He placed Nunew's bowl in front of him with the utensils that he would need plus a cup of herbal tea. He then served the children and gave each of them a cup of milk. Zee then proceeded to go back to the kitchen to pack the children's bags and lunches as he would be taking them to kindergarten. Nunew and the children ate. Nunew kept his eyes down so he didn't realise that Zee never cane back to sit and eat with them. It's only when their children thanked Zee for the meal that he looked up and saw Zee was not sitting with them. He became more annoyed and harshly asked him why he didn't eat with them. Zee looked at him and then at the children. Nunew then realized that his children is looking at him with scared faces. He scared his children. Zee still didn't answer him but turned to the children and said kids kiss mommy goodbye. Don't forget to give her some love too he smiled at his children. The children kissed and hugged Nunew and he started to panic. Where are you taking them he asked his voice quivering. Nhu I'm taking them to kindergarten. It's a week day. I've been taking them for the past few weeks already. I told you didn't I? And you consented to it. Nunew knows he did. But after last night's nightmare he is scared and insecure. And he is being a bitch he said to himself.

As Zee and the kids got to the door.Zee turned around and spoke softly to Nunew. I know you said I don't have a say how you raise our children. I know you hate me, I know you are anxious because of the nightmare you had but if you want to fight with me, don't do it in front of our children. I might be nothing to you but I will not tolerate you scaring our children like you did now. I am your problem not them.

With that Zee walked out leaving Nunew totally deflated.
