sometimes i get angry. sometimes i get sad.
sometimes i can't control myself.
somtimes i can't sleep.
sometimes i can't even wake up.

i'm mostly just an angry person. people know my dad passed but do people know the full story?

"come here naiya!" my dad calls my name and i run to him

"yes!" i say smiling ear to ear

"you wanna go to the store?" he ask and i nod fast

"yes yes yes! i got my light ups in too!" i day excitedly

"aren't you so adorable, i'm glad i have you."

"me to! let's go! let's go!" i shriek full of joy

my dad picks me up and we walk out to our car. he puts me in my booster seat and i buckle myself in

"where are we going?" i ask

"walmart, we need some groceries!" he says starting the car."

"daddy can we get toys?" i ask and he nods

"only one!"

"wait can i get this?" i say picking up a monkey plushie

"if you want!" he says and i nod while hugging it

"alright we can go check out now, gotta get home and cook for you. get you ready for school tomorrow!"

"i don't like school!" i say crossing my arms and pouting

"one day you'll be out and free. time flies baby." he says patting my head and i smile

we walked out of the walmart and headed to the car

until this van came up next to us and the window rolled down

my dad looked scared but i was confused

"we told you not to run, and you with yo daughter. this not gone end well." one of the dudes say laughing

"aye listen. let's settle this later."

"nah nigga we settle shit in the moment." next thing i know the man puts a gun to my dads head and fires

my ears start ringing as i cover my ears and close my eyes

i opened my eyes to see my dad dead in a parking lot

blood leaking out from his head

i let out a ear wrenching scream as i held on to my monkey plush tight
