2 weeks later

today is the last day of fuckin school! i'm so excited! i literally woke up happy! and ion got no test!

and it's so hot today! i'm finna wear some hoochies

but anyways i get up out my bed and walk into my bathroom. i piss of course and do my daily hygiene.

after i do my hair, well i wet it so my curls pop more put some foam on it, then do two little ponytail in the front. like a half up half down

i should've got dressed before doing my hair but ion care

i search through my drawers for an outfit and found something cute

i'm wearing light washed shorts, with a cropped wife beater, a grey zip up, and my beat up air forces

so cute right. nah it's basic as hell but it's like damn near 100 degrees outside! and that school be getting cold!

but now that i'm dressed and look cute for the first time in i don't know when i grab my purse and phone and run downstairs

my mom worked overnights this whole entire week so she's prolly sleep

i go find a cereal bar in my cabinet and take it. i walk outside and call stoke first

and he didn't pick up? odd.

i call him again and he still didn't pick up?

i then call jah and he didn't pick up either. called again and he didn't pick up

are they tryna prank me or something?

i start walking to stokes house and it looks empty. i still knock and wait.

no response

i'm getting a little nervous now, i hope they not tryna play with me.

i start my short journey to jahs house next. i see his moms car on the street. which actually gave me hope so i jog over there and knock on the door

"aww hii nai! i haven't seen you in a while!" she says opening the door hugging me

"hii cleo! i'm tryna look for jah and stoke, do you know where they are?" i ask and her smile slowly faded

"wait did something bad happen to them?!" i say a little panicked

"i don't know anything about stoke, but it can be relayed to jah. i know they both got locked up-" she says and my heart sunk

"what?! what do you mean locked up?!"

"lanai they both got put in juvie. jah was robbing gas stations homes, stealing shit. it's a lot! he has assault charges. the only thing i know about stoke at the moment is possession of drugs." she explains to me

i think a tear slipped from my eye. we were supposed to spend the whole summer together. go to the fair and shit like that. why would they even do that

maybe my mom was right

they're both just troublemakers.

"ima just go home, ion feel like going to school today."

"well if you want, i'm going to see jah today, you can come. i don't think they placed them in the same detention center."

"yeah i'll go.." i say walking off her porch and standing near her car.

i see her walk back into the house and grab her keys and purse

she unlocks the car and i get in the passenger seat and she gets in the driver

the car ride was silent

and if i'm being honest i she's a few tears on the way there

like i know they've been there before, but from then to now weve all gotten so close. like i met stoke from jah. i didn't know jah was in juvie the first time i just thought he was staying with his grandma.

"jahseh.. why?" i say to him as i see him behind glass

he already spoke to his mom and she told me she'll let us speak

"it's just something i enjoy doing! why you worried about it!" he says

"because your my fucking bestfriend jah the hell you mean!" i say with tears threating to spill

"ion need friends." he says coldly

"you don't need them but yet i'm still here!" i say and he scoffs

"i don't need YOU!" he says

he doesn't actually mean that right

"jahseh what are you talking about? i haven't done anything?" i say lowly

"you tryna act like my mama or some shit!"

"because i fucking care for you- what the fuck is your problem?! you act like i put your stupid ass in here! nobody told you to do that shit!" i blurt out the tears slipped out my eyes

"fuck you."

"fuck me? fuck you! this whole thing petty as fuck and you know it!"

"lanai ion care no more fuck outta here!"

"what is wrong with you! why are you acting like this towards me!"

"lanai ion wanna see yo face no more bye! fuck out my face with yo green ass!"

"i'm green but you in here?" i say and fake laugh

"you know what fuck you jahseh!" i say hanging the phone up and i see a smug look on his face.

why is he acting like this towards me?! what did i do!
