Taylor's pov" mommy and daddy love you so much our Millie moo, be a good girl for Dede " Travis hugged our now 2 year old in his arms
" love momma and dadda " she cuddled into us, placing a kiss on both our cheeks, the most adorable thing she does to people.
We were current dropping her off at Donna's house as we were booked in for an induction today. I was now over 41 weeks and with no sign of this baby coming, we agreed with my doctor that this would be the best option. I felt so nervous about leaving Millie, although she was now 2 years old and was a lot more independent, she still struggled to be away from us, especially at nighttime, she'd improved a lot in the past 6 months, but it was still a journey.
" bye baby brudder " Millie dipped down, placing a soft kiss on my large belly, that was definitely far too big – even more so now I was overdue.
" come one Millie, shall we go see Wy and Ellie and Bennie, yeah, they're waiting for you " Donna coaxed, taking the toddler into her arms. Kylie and Jason had come down this weekend, with the hopes to meet the new baby, but unfortunately, our little boy had over plans, but hopefully he comes before they have to go back to Philly.
We left Donna's house, and I felt a bit on edge and overwhelmed. Millie would no longer be our only baby and I feared how she'd respond to that. We'd tried our hardest to get her used to the idea of having a sibling in the house: we read books about it, we involved her as much as we could with setting things up with him, letting her pick out clothes and toys for his nursery, but of course, she was only two, and she couldn't completely comprehend it all properly.
When we arrived at the hospital, they got my set up pretty quickly, but they had warned me that it could be a long process and a bit of a waiting game. I was geared up for that, I had suspected it might be and it wasn't like I wasn't used to waiting, this kid had made us wait a whole week past his due date to meet him, I guess I could wait a little longer. As of right now, I had no painful contractions starting, a few small twinges, but nothing like I knew what normal contractions felt like.
" my word this kid wants to keep us waiting " I groan a few hours later, feeling a few contractions, not super intense, but definitely more apparent then the previous ones.
" at least things have started up now, you're still only about 2cm dilated, but it's progressing so that's a good sign " my midwife, Sophie, told me and I nodded before she left the room.
" how is Millie? " I ask Travis, my little girl filling my mind, he chuckled, I had only asked 30 minutes ago, but I couldn't help worrying about her.
" the last time I checked, she was fine, enjoying playing with Bennie, she's in good hands Tay, don't worry about her too much " he reassured me, and I knew he was right really, she was okay, and I had other things to focus on in this moment.
" your still just about 4cm dilated Taylor, I'm thinking we should go ahead and break your waters to speed it up a little bit, does that sound okay with you? " Sophie suggested. It was 5pm now, we'd been here since 10am, so I was willing to take any chance I got at speeding this up. 4cm in 7 hours wasn't very much progress at all, but my contractions were consistent and insanely painful.
Sophie broke my waters and immediately the full effect hit me, if I thought those previous contractions were painful then I was in for a treat with these, I should've known from the last time, but it was true when people said you forget the pain when you meet your baby, because I defended don't remember this much pain.
