"We need to visit mom."
Bella had came into Elena's room after the family of three had gone out to eat dinner. Charlie had been somewhat okay with Jasper after hearing Elena explain that she was starting to forgive Jasper and Charlie should too if he loved her. If only it worked that way with Edward, Bella had said.
Charlie had rolled his eyes of course but Jasper had always been the more formal brother and spoke with Charlie more often than Edward. He surely didn't blame Jasper for Bella and Elena running off to Italy to go surprise Edward who had apparently also been going through a tough time.
"Why do you say that?" Elena asked turning in her chair. It was a rare occasion that Jasper had actually left Elena on her own to give her some space which she repeatedly said she needed. You're smothering me, were her exact words to him.
"It could be our last chance to see her before we graduate. And before we change." Bella sat down on her sister's bed and sighed. Bella and Elena had both talked about when they would be turned into vampires. Elena wanted time but Bella didn't. She wanted to be changed as soon as possible.
"Are you sure Bella? You could always push the date back and give yourself some more time."
"I don't want time. I don't know about you Elena but I know for sure I was not meant to be human. I've always felt different from you and from everyone else. I am meant for something. I'm meant to be like Edward. I know what I want El." Elena slid off of her chair and walked over to her sister.
She wrapped her arms around her twin sister and laid her head on her shoulder. "Okay Bells. We'll go visit mom. Guess we're just going to have to convince Edward and Jasper to use their companion tickets."
"Thanks El. I'm sorry if I'm asking too much you know?" Bella laid her head on top of her sister's.
"You're not Bells. Don't worry about it." Elena pulled away from their bonding moment. "Guess we better start packing." Bella nodded and left her sister alone. Now all Elena had to do was to convince her vampire boyfriend to go to the sunniest state there is while hiding his true identity.

"I can't believe you're here!" Renee greeted her two children at the airport. Renee had agreed to pick them up since they needed to be home before the sunrise due to the nature of their lovers.
"Hi mom!" The girls hugged her tightly. To say they missed her couldn't describe how they felt enough. This was the woman they lived with their entire lives and now they've barely seen her in the past year.
"Jasper! Edward! How nice it is to see you boys again." Renee welcomed both with open arms and hugged them. Jasper held his breath as she got near but kept eye contact with his mate to keep him calm.
"It's a pleasure to see you again Mrs. Dwyer. Especially since we are now under better circumstances." Jasper spoke with a small smile on his face. The first time they had met both girls were in the hospital recovering from their incident with the rogue vampire James.
"Jasper you're still very polite." Renee laughed. "Would you guys like some breakfast? There's a really great restaurant that opens in the next hour or so." Renée was full of energy having her children back in her home.
"Actually mom. I think we're all still a bit tired. It's four in the morning after all." Elena knew that the sun would start to come up soon and the last thing she wanted to explain was why Jasper and Edward couldn't be out in direct sunlight. Come to think of it Elena still didn't know why they couldn't be out in the sun since Jasper never told her.
"Maybe you could make breakfast? Like you used to do back in Arizona?" Bella suggested. Neither girls wanted Renee to feel as if she was being pushed away. Or that they didn't need her.
"If that's what you'd like then that's what you'll get." The mother smiled. "Let's get you kids home." They quickly all piled into Renee's SUV and then drove home in silence.
Renee had shown the girls the rooms they'd be staying in. "If you feel you're moving too fast the boys could share a room?" Renee always wanted her daughters to feel as comfortable as possible.
"Mom trust me we're fine." Elena laughed knowing the boys wouldn't be sleeping at all and just staying up watching their significant others sleep.
"Okay. Get some sleep." She kissed both of her daughters on their foreheads before leaving them to unpack and sleep some more.
Elena quickly went to the curtains and pulled them together to keep as much sunlight out as possible when the sun came up. Jasper laughed.
"What? I'm just trying to keep your secret. Which by the way I have yet to learn about why you can't go out in the sun." Elena crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow at her lover.
"Maybe I'll show you." He chuckled. "Just not when being in the sun means you're around the entire human race with no privacy." Elena took him at his word.
"Whatever you say Jas." Elena had already started to unpack her clothing and put them away in the dresser drawers.
"Your mother is excited for you to be here." Jasper could still feel the emotions radiating off of the woman as if she was still in the room.
"I'm excited to be here. Who knows the next time I'll see her." Elena sighed as she sat on the edge of the queen sized bed.
The room was big. Phil had done a good job getting Renee a big house. It's what's she's always wanted. So her daughters would be able to come and visit and hopefully at some point with their own families. The house being on the beach was just a plus for Renee as well. She had a beautiful view to admire each and every day.
"I thought you wanted to wait for a while before changing?" Jasper sat next to her.
"I do. It's just, Bella made a good point when she said we should come here. What if something happens and I get turned before I see her again?" Elena asked twiddling her thumbs.
"I will not let anything happen to you." Jasper placed his hand over hers and used his free hand to lift her chin to where she was looking at him.
"I get that Jasper, but you cannot protect me every second of the day." There was sadness in her eyes. She was coming to terms with the fact that the people around her, the people she loves will eventually die and she will never see them again. The thought of it makes her heart ache.
"I can damn sure try." He gave a smirk knowing it would make her laugh.
"Okay Jas. Whatever you say." Elena snorted making Jasper laugh.
"Get some sleep El. I know you're going to need it for the weekend ahead of you." Jasper picked Elena up and rushed her to bed where he quickly tucked her in.
"Let me know when you hear Renee start cooking." She yawned. "I'll just eat off of your plate so it looks like you're enjoying it." Elena's voice started becoming more softer as she spoke.
"I'm sure if I was human I would have enjoyed your mother's cooking." He laid next to her on top of the blanket before playing with her hair to put her to sleep.
"Good. Cause I enjoy your mother's cooking." Elena's breathing slowed down and Jasper did nothing for the next few hours but listen to her heartbeat.
