Y/n's pov:
The doctor was explaining the surgery to you while you gave your best to listen to him. Fear started to spread in your chest as he continued to talk. You wished Dami would be here but she went home to catch up on some sleep.
"Do you have any questions?" The doctor suddenly asked and you shook your head. "Okay, your surgery is scheduled at 7 pm this evening. You can still change your mind."
"It's the only thing I can do otherwise I would have to live in fear every day. I cannot burden this on myself and if my girlfriend has to see me so helpless again would make me feel incredibly sorry for her." You replied.
"I understand. The surgery is risky but I'm confident to get the bone fragment out of your head." The doctor smiled and it was supposed to make you feel better but it didn't.
"I know that I'm in good hands doctor Min." You sighed. "But I'm still scared.
"Everyone in your situation would be scared." Doctor Min replied.
"I guess so." You whispered while he used a tiny flashlight to inspect your eyes.
"Is your head still hurting?" He asked and you nodded. "Okay, If it gets worse we can give you more painkillers but for now everything looks alright. No sign of a seizure."
"Thank you. That makes me worry a little less." You said.
"Try to rest a little." He smiled and left.
You lay back down and closed your eyes. It was a miracle that you fell a sleep because of all the thoughs that roamed around in your head. When you woke up again Dami was back at your side. One of her hands was holding yours while she held a book with the other. She was occupied with the book and didn't realized that you were awake. You wanted to look at her for a little longer so you didn't moved.
"She is the most beautiful woman I ever saw." You thought.
The time you were alowed to spent with her was the happiest in your life and you were greatful for it.
"It's just a shame that it has to end here." You thought as you looked at your girlfriend.
She skillfully turned the page with one hand. You could lay here all day and admire her beauty but you wanted to tell her about rhe surgery so you moved. Dami immideately laid her book down and focused on you.
"Hey," She said.
"He beautiful." You whispered back.
A soft slmile appeared on her face and ot made you feel butterflies in your belly.
"The surgery is this evening at 7." You told her and watched as the soft smile dropped and fear filled her eyes.
"Oh," She mumbled and looked down.
"I know it's very soon." You said. "I wish we would've more time."
"You will survive because I need you and so does your company." Dami replied.
"I can't promise to come back to you but you will always be in my heart." You smiled.
After that you talked a little bit about the memories you shared together. She had this tiny smile on her face when you told her how you fell in love with her. Soon it was time for your surgery and the nurse came in to prepare everything. She shaved the part your head where they wanted to operate and you had to change into other clothes. Dami never left your side.
"We will bring you to the OR in a few minutes." The nurse said after she was done and left.
Now it was time to say goodbye to your girlfriend but you didn't know what to say. Dami's hand was tightly wrapped around yours while you forced yourself not to cry.
