"Oh hey, what brings you here? Away from the fire I mean." Cole asked.
"Well I just wanted to check up on you. We might be in the clear, what do you think?" Elijah responded.
Cole picked up a small stone nearby and examined it, the stone had a surprisingly smooth surface, however there were a couple parts that had rough edges. He cranked his arm back and threw the stone as far as he could into the river.
The rock had one loud splash with the ripples in the river.
"You know I have no idea if we're clear or not, all I know is that after we take this short break, we better get on the move. I just want to see my mother and sis again."
He looked back at the river while Elijah picked up a rock nearby and threw it in the river, the rock skipped a bit before it sank into the river.
"Well, you're right about that, we don't truly know. Just like all of us, you've been through a lot these past couple of days, especially you. So, take this well-deserved rest."
Elijah pat Cole's shoulder before he got up and started to walk back to the others.
"Elijah wait, before you go back to them...can you bring me my satchel bag? Please, thank you."
Only after a few moments Elijah brought the satchel bag to him, Cole motioned for him to sit. Elijah sat back next to Cole, they both looked at his satchel bag.
"Look when I got my bag back, I noticed a lot of things were missing or used in it. Which is fine. That's not what I'm concerned about."
He slowly opened the satchel bag and had the moonlight shine on a particular spot in the satchel bag, Cole even pointed to the spot in case Elijah couldn't see it. The particular spot in the bag was cut out, but only noticeable from the inside.
Elijah's eyes turned yellow for a short time as he stared in the bag, he slowly looked at Cole.
"Cole, I don't know what happened when you got this back, but I swear to you, there was something in that spot when I had the bag. When we got separated, that cut was not in the bag."
"Really now? What did you see? What could have even been in that spot anyways?" They both would get closer and lower their voices.
Elijah pointed to the cut-out part in Cole's bag, "When I had the satchel bag from you, in that little cut out area there was some like circular device, almost like an electronic, and I tried to take it off the bag at first, but I couldn't, so I thought it was a part of the bag. Clearly...I was wrong."
Cole closed the satchel bag and shook Elijah's hand.
"Thank you, I'll keep what you said in mind. Look, let's just keep this between you and me, nice and quiet."
Their discussion was interrupted by a loud scream at the campfire, Cole and Elijah hid behind some bushes away from the campsite, a group of masked goons were surrounding the campfire, they had forcefully held Shawn and Jessica, causing those two to be stuck on the ground hostage.
Yuna was being tied up forcefully to a wooden pole, she was being tied up by Hadeon, Cole's spine felt a tingle sensation.
"You've got to be kidding me; how could he have known we were out here? We left Briella's Balloon World a far distance, and now he shows up? How could he?"
"You know what, I bet you it was that circular device I saw, the one that was in your satchel bag, that's the only way I can think of how he found us in the first place."
Cole rubbed his face from a mild headache hearing all of this.
"Anyways we might as well take longer to find a plan, it's not like we're in a life-or-death situation at all." Elijah responded, adding a snarky remark to the end of it.
