"Shall we start the ceremony?" the Priest inquired.Aaron looked away from Nyx, why was he disturbing them? Did he not see that they were busy?
"Why not ask the Empress, she is the only reason why we are here in the first place," Aaron answered with bitterness.
Donald frowned, he could not imagine the open disrespect Aaron was giving to Irisa. He had a personal spy in the Palace, but he never thought she would report what was happening. He never thought anything like that was possible, nothing like that was possible. He was in the presence of the Rulers and anybody with eyes could see Irisa was no longer a priority for Aaron.
It had been relayed to to him that Aaron had lost his memories and maybe his mind too. The spy had informed him that Aaron and brought another woman back, an Ominos woman, who saved him from his enemies, they had fallen quickly and got married.
Irisa did not look happy, about the discomfort in her leg, Irisa looked like she wanted to cry, just watching her husband fuzz over Nyx.
Maybe Aaron did lose his mind because if he was asked to choose between the Empress and the strange woman from Ominos, who looked more like a siren than anything else, he would choose Irisa.
Then again, it was not his choice to make, it was his elder brother. He was not happy about the entire thing but he had little power to change it.
Donald had thought long and hard after he was usurped on how to gain his power back. He knew his mother and the Prime Minister had plotted, but at the back of his mind, he knew that if he ever had the power to control an Empire like Kaley, he would never give it up willingly.
Aaron was not an easy enemy, he spent half his life pretending that he was an enemy, he slowly gained power and prominence, even more than he was able to while he was Crown Prince. He was not Crown Prince anymore, he sat to plot taking it over, but he realized quickly that it was next to impossible.
Unless Aaron was killed and Irisa died, nothing of that sort would happen. The Prime Minister and his mother attempted to take Aaron's life but he was still saved. If they had attempted to take the Throne forcefully, Irisa had a willing army behind her, not just the Royal army of Kaley, but an army of men even Aaron did not know how much they were.
Irisa had the upper hand, she always did but she was too blindsided to know how much power she had. He knew marrying Dominic to Pearl was no ordinary decision, Pearl was pregnant with a man's child, a man who he heard suspected was the King.
Irisa and Pearl could not pull off that sort of scheme without involving the king himself, so he knew about it. The only reason a King would marry a woman already pregnant was if that child was his. He concluded that the child was Dominic's.
Irisa was an incredible ruler but she was not a plotter like Aaron, she did not have the heart to sacrifice people, and believed in treating people well. If he was ruling and she was his wife, she would have very little say in how a lot of things were running, he wondered how Aaron was so comfortable leaving the Empire to his Pregnant wife and going off to war. It made little sense.
Aaron went from being cautious to being woefully reckless. Drinking and indulging with his new woman all day. He was not opposed to taking another Consort, he was a man after all, but to blatantly disrespect his wife like that? He had never seen such.
"Your Excellency," The High Priest bowed. "It is time, please proceed to the Grand altar."
Irisa nodded, the grand altar was all the way over there, and she glanced at Donald, who quickly knelt next to her. He picked her up bridal-style and carried her toward the hall.
