Aizawa gave us a lecture about the training goals, he tossed a ball to Bakugou. "Try throwing that for me," 'So like the fitness test?'
"When you first started school you're record was 705.2 meters, let's see if you have improved." Bakugou walked to stand in the middle of the field, "Hakamada, you're after him." Bakugou threw the ball and only got 709.6 meters. He seemed shocked and disappointed with himself.
"You've had a single semester at UA, and due to your various experiences, all of you have improved. Hakamada you're up," He tossed another ball to me. And I took Bakugou's spot, I thought about it, I could probably do something better than last time, but the terrain is a bit different.
I stare at the ball before forming a plan, "Can I jump?" He nodded, and I smiled, crouching and jumping myself as high as possible into the air, swinging back my arm, letting the ball go with only a thread keeping it attached. I threw my arm forward, the ball going flying, for a good few minutes.
I landed back on the ground and looked at Aizawa, he smirked at his phone when it beeped, and he read it out loud for the class, "1,549.3 meters."
"Aw, man... I almost got a mile, I was so close!" I whined. Cursing myself while tapping my forehead.
"Don't forget you still showed massive improvement, Hakamada, getting a mile isn't a requirement, just a goal you students set for yourselves," Aizawa reminded me. I nodded.
During training Aizawa pulled me somewhere private, "I'll be honest with you, I couldn't think of a way to test your limits. Can you maybe think of something you can work on?"
I looked at my hand, "Maybe controlling my threads to the point there not deadly, and I can choose if I want it that way."
He nodded, "That sounds like a plan, but two problems. One, take off your support gear, two, you'd need someone to test it with."
"Right..." I removed my support gear, rubbing my skin, "Who do you think I should-? Oh no..." He had his toothy grin on, "Me, of course. Do you know me at all, Dashi?"
I cursed myself mentally, scared.
.
After training, our class was forced to make dinner. Everyone seemed bummed, but Iida lightened them up.
It wasn't the best result but everyone was hungry so they ate up, I passed on dinner and went for a walk. "Oh, uhm, Hakamada, you might not wanna go this way," I heard Midoriya from in front of me, "I'll be fine," I responded, walking past, he tried stopping me but I ignored him.
I walked the narrow hill up to the cliff, where I saw Koda staring at a bowl of curry. 'Midoriya must've been here,' I sat in front of the bowl, grabbing his attention, "What's wrong?"
"That green-haired boy is annoying..." he scoffed, sitting down facing me, "What's his deal? Trying to convince me to like quirks and wannabe heroes... He even knew who my parents were," I used Second Sense on this one, "The Waterhoes?" I ask, he looks up at me, shocked. He nodded.
"I'm sorry, that must be rough. Especially since you must've loved them both dearly, I wish I could understand that" I mumbled the last part, but he heard, "What's that supposed to mean? Aren't you Best Jeanist's daughter or something?"
I nodded, smiling down at the bowl of food, "Yeah, but it wasn't always like the way it is now." I looked up at him and leaned in smiling, he leaned in slightly too, "Can I tell you something?" He nodded.
"I haven't even known my father for two years," I whisper, he gasps and looks at me, "What about your mom...?" He asks.
"She used to love me, but once I gained my quirk that changed. She hated me after that, she... took her own life because she was so ashamed of me, it's a terrible feeling, it was. I'm fine now, it sounds bad but, her death changed my life for the better. But, it's also something I can't compare to your parents, because there was love, in mine there wasn't. Sorry, I'm rambling..." I rubbed my neck. I felt a splash on my face.
