Race day. The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room. I stretched out, feeling the cool sheets next to me, and immediately noticed that Victoria wasn't there. My heart skipped a beat, but before I could even think to worry, the door creaked open.

I turned my head just in time to see Victoria walk in, her hair slightly tousled, a serene smile on her face, and two bowls of açai cradled in her hands. She looked effortlessly beautiful, even in the early morning light.

"Morning," she greeted softly, her voice like music to my ears.

"Morning," I echoed, my voice still thick with sleep. I propped myself up on one elbow, unable to take my eyes off her as she crossed the room.

She set the bowls down on the nightstand and then leaned down to press a quick, sweet kiss on my lips. "Thought we could start the day with something light," she said, gesturing to the bowls.

I smiled, reaching out to tug her down beside me. "You're perfect, you know that?"

She laughed softly, sitting on the edge of the bed. "I'm just trying to keep us both in racing shape," she teased, handing me one of the bowls.

I took it, my fingers brushing against hers as I did. "I appreciate it," I said, my eyes lingering on her. She always had a way of making the simplest moments feel special.

As we ate, I couldn't help but notice the little things—the way she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, the way her eyes sparkled when she caught me looking at her. There was something so captivating about her in these quiet moments.

Once we finished, she set the bowls aside and stretched out beside me, her hand resting on my chest. "We should probably get ready," she murmured, her voice laced with a hint of reluctance.

"Yeah, we should," I agreed, though I wasn't eager to leave the warmth of the bed—or her.

We eventually dragged ourselves out of bed and started getting ready for the day. Victoria picked out a classy outfit—a sleek skirt paired with a stylish top that highlighted her elegance. I slipped into my team apparel, feeling the familiar fabric settle comfortably on my skin.

As I adjusted my shirt in the mirror, I caught sight of her out of the corner of my eye. She was focused on fixing her hair, the concentration on her face endearing. I couldn't resist. I walked over, wrapping my arms around her waist from behind.

"You look amazing," I murmured against her ear, watching as a smile curved her lips.

"Thank you," she said, turning in my arms to face me. Her eyes softened as she looked up at me, and then, without warning, she leaned up and kissed me. It was slow and lingering, her lips warm against mine.

When she pulled back, I couldn't help but smile. "That's one way to start race day," I teased, earning a soft laugh from her.

"It's good luck," she quipped, her fingers playing with the collar of my shirt. "Now let's get to the track so you can make the most of it."

With that, we headed out, ready to face the day together.

The drive to the track was a quiet one, filled with that unique tension that always came with race day. Victoria sat beside me, her hand resting on my thigh, a silent reminder that she was with me in this, every step of the way. The sun was just starting to rise, casting a golden hue over the city as we made our way through the streets.

When we arrived at the track, the usual hustle and bustle of race day was in full swing. The air buzzed with excitement, fans already gathering, waving flags, and wearing team colors. As soon as we stepped out of the car, a few presenters made a beeline for us.
