The next morning, I woke up first again. Victoria was still asleep beside me, her face buried in the pillow. I smiled, watching her for a moment before carefully slipping out of the tent. We had a whole day ahead of us—a hike, maybe some time in the jacuzzi, and who knows what else. But for now, I'd let her sleep a little longer.

Grabbing my phone, I quietly texted Sophie again, already planning what surprises I could come up with for the rest of our time at the cabin.

I sent a quick text to Sophie: Hey, she's still out cold. Gonna let her sleep a bit more. Thanks again for the matcha tip yesterday! Any breakfast ideas she likes?

While I waited for her reply, I stretched and looked around. The lake shimmered in the soft morning light, the air crisp and fresh. It was quiet, just the occasional rustle of leaves and the gentle lap of water against the shore. Perfect.

A moment later, Sophie's message buzzed through: She loves fruit with yogurt, or avocado toast. Throw in some berries if you have them!

I smiled. Simple enough. I headed back to the cabin, making sure not to wake Victoria as I slipped inside. The kitchen was cozy, stocked up with essentials, and soon I found everything I needed for a quick breakfast. As I worked, I glanced back out the window every now and then, thinking about how peaceful everything felt. There was something about being out here with Victoria that made everything click—no distractions, no rush, just us.

I put together a small tray: avocado toast topped with a sprinkle of chili flakes and lemon, a bowl of yogurt with granola and fresh berries, and her matcha. It looked good, if I did say so myself.

I tiptoed back out to the tent, setting the tray beside me as I sat down next to her. She stirred a little, her eyes fluttering open when she realized I was there.

"Mmm," she murmured, blinking sleepily. "Is that breakfast I smell?"

"Morning, sleepyhead," I whispered, smiling as I brushed a stray curl from her face. "I thought you could use something to start your day right."

She slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes before glancing at the tray. Her eyes lit up. "You made me avocado toast?"

"Of course. With a side of matcha," I added, passing the mug to her.

Victoria took a sip and sighed happily. "You are spoiling me."

"I can't help it," I said with a grin. "I like seeing you smile."

She leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek. "Well, mission accomplished."

We ate together in the tent, the morning sun casting a warm glow over everything. The soft rustle of the wind through the trees and the distant ripple of the lake made it feel like we were in our own little world.

She smiled up at me, her eyes soft and warm, and for a moment, the world felt perfectly still, like it was just the two of us in our little bubble. She reached for the avocado toast and took a small bite, her lips curling into a contented smile.

"Okay, I admit it," she said between bites. "You're officially the best breakfast-maker in the world."

I chuckled, leaning back on my hands as I watched her enjoy the food. "I'll take that title, but don't get used to it. I still burn toast sometimes."

She laughed, shaking her head as she finished the last bite. "You know, you really don't have to do all this. Just being here with you is enough."

"I know," I said softly, my gaze dropping to her hand resting on the blanket. "But I want to. Especially knowing you've got a busy few weeks ahead."
