SNEAK PEEK/COMING SOON

The atmosphere within the palace had been calm, but there was always an underlying tension with some elves who were not as accepting of the changes Alariel had been implementing. Whispers had circulated among a few who were more resistant to the melding of traditions between Mirkwood and Lothlórien, and that tension finally came to a head.

It started as a subtle attempt to stir discourse. A group of male elves, known for their rigid views on preserving Mirkwood's customs, gathered in one of the halls, speaking just loud enough for their discontent to be heard by passersby. They questioned Thranduil's decisions—his trust in Alariel, her authority to oversee the realm in his absence, and whether her influence would weaken the kingdom rather than strengthen it. Their murmurs soon turned into bolder, more confrontational statements, as they sought to sow doubt among those present.

Word of the gathering reached Alariel quickly. Her guards, ever vigilant, informed her of the unrest, and while she had expected some resistance, the direct challenge in Thranduil's absence was something she could not ignore. She stood from her chambers, her expression calm yet firm. She knew it was time to assert herself fully, not just as a temporary steward, but as the future queen of the Woodland Realm.
