Chapter 18

Chirping of birds are the first thing I hear as I start stirring awake. I sigh as I roll over on my back. A small smile plays over my lips as a auto recall starts playing in my head in my still sleepy state about how leona and I are now more closer then before......

My eyes shots open as my brain registers the absence of my mate. I spring up in a sitting position and frantically look around.

She isn’t here.

I don't smell her scent except the lingering ones.

I don't hear her inside the bathroom.

I don't hear her anywhere near my room at all.

She isn’t here.

Isn't here.

Where are you?

I jump down from my bed and burst out of my room. I run downstairs in my full inhumane-like speed, not bothering to hide the pounding of my feet as I basically fly downstairs while trying to find any presence of my mate.

It was when I almost reached downstairs that her scent hit me. Without any second thought, I ran towards the direction before bursting inside a room.

Four pair of eyes were staring at me as soon as I halted my steps. Three of them looked startled while the other gave a emotionless expression, through I can clearly see behind those stormy eyes that she's startled too.

She was standing beside the dining table seemingly to be picking up plates filled with food in a tray. I walk over to her while ignoring the other three who for some reason, haven’t stopped gawking at me. Though that's the least of my worries right now.

Her eyes watched my every move without battling an eye as I stopped beside her and placed my palm on her lower back.

“You left me cold." I pout as her eyes softens at my tone.

“I thought you’d like breakfast in bed." She tilts her head as I caught amusement behind those grey clouds. “Though it seems that won't be necessary anymore."

I press my front on her side and feel her body get tensed a little. “I would love that but do it after I'm awake. I don't want you away when i wake up." I whine as I look up at her with my you-can-not-say-no or the phrase that normally people uses as, puppy eyes.

I watch her adam apple bobble up and down as she is having trouble keeping her emotionless face on. But the emotions behind her eyes aren’t hidden from me either as I smirk internally at how she just melted at my trick.

She gives a sigh before nodding her head. “As you say." She murmurs before leaning down and kissing my lips. “Morning."

I hum a ‘morning' back as I kiss back but soon was cut off with a cough.

I sigh, half irritated-half defeated as I lean away from her and look at my siblings and sibling-in-law looking at us.

No.

They are looking at me.

I frown at them before pulling out a chair and gesturing leona to sit. A light blush coats her cheeks as she mumbles a soft ‘thank you' before sitting down. I smile at her briefly but affectionately as I sit down beside her before bringing back my attention to the three of my family members, a frown already back on my face.

“What is it?" I ask as I watch them looking at me strangely as if trying to make sense of something.

“The way you ran earlier.... " Xover mumbles as he trails off.
