The following day in the office, the atmosphere was thick with tension. Freen was acutely aware of Non's presence, his charm on full display as he interacted with other employees. Every laugh and every shared smile with Becky felt like a dagger to Freen's heart. She resolved to keep her distance, determined to shield Becky from any unwanted attention.During lunch, Non approached Becky while she was sitting with Freen and their friends. "Hey, can I talk to you for a second?" he asked, his tone casual but with an undertone of urgency.
Freen's protective instincts flared, and she immediately interjected. "Whatever you have to say, you can say it in front of me," she stated firmly, crossing her arms. The others exchanged glances, sensing the charged atmosphere.
Becky looked between them, unsure. "It's okay, Freen. Maybe he just wants to apologize."
"No, I don't want to talk about it," Non replied, a hint of frustration creeping into his voice. "But I think it's important."
Freen narrowed her eyes, unwilling to back down. "If you want to apologize to Becky, you'll do it here. In front of me."
With a resigned sigh, Non stepped closer to Becky, trying to keep his tone soft. "Look, I'm really sorry for what happened the other day. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I just thought..."
"Thought what?" Freen interrupted, her voice cold. "That you could just kiss her without her consent?"
"Freen, please," Becky said gently, placing a hand on Freen's arm. "Let him speak."
Non looked at Becky, and for a moment, his frustration faded. "I didn't think about it that way. I just—" he started, but his voice trailed off.
Becky's expression softened, and she gave him a small nod. "I appreciate your apology, Non. Just please understand my feelings."
"Yeah, sure," Non replied, his shoulders slumping slightly. He took a step back, but then leaned closer to Freen, lowering his voice. "But don't get too comfortable. I'll take Becky from you. Just wait and see."
Freen felt her heart race, the threat hanging in the air like a dark cloud. She clenched her fist, fighting to maintain a calm exterior, refusing to show any weakness. "You should know better than to threaten me," she replied evenly, her voice steady despite the fire raging inside her.
Non stepped back, a smug look crossing his face. "I'm just saying, don't underestimate me." With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Freen and Becky in stunned silence.
Once he was out of earshot, Freen released a deep breath, her emotions swirling in a tumultuous storm. "Are you okay?" she asked, concern flooding her voice as she turned to Becky.
Becky's brows knitted together in thought. "What did he say to you?"
Before Becky could delve deeper, Freen cupped her face in her hands and kissed her deeply, pouring all her reassurance and love into the gesture. It was a passionate kiss that lingered in the air, grounding them both in the moment.
When they finally broke apart, Becky's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Freen... what was that about?"
"Just making sure you know everything is fine," Freen replied, her heart still racing from both the kiss and the confrontation. "You're mine, and I'm not going to let anyone take you away."
Becky smiled, the warmth of Freen's words melting away some of the tension. "I know, and I feel the same way. But we need to talk about Non."
"We will," Freen promised, but she couldn't shake the lingering unease from Non's threat.
Later that evening, Non sat at a dimly lit bar, nursing a drink as he scrolled through his phone. He glanced up to see a shadowy figure approach him—a mysterious person draped in a dark coat with a hood pulled low over their face.
"Are you sure about this?" the figure asked, their voice low and cautious.
Non leaned back, a cocky grin spreading across his face. "Absolutely. Freen thinks she can keep Becky away from me, but I have a plan."
"What kind of plan?" the figure pressed, narrowing their eyes.
"I'll make Becky fall for me. I know she's not truly into Freen; she's just trying to make it work out of pity," Non stated, his tone dripping with arrogance. "I'll show her what she's missing."
The figure's eyes glinted in the dim light. "Just be careful. You don't want to get on Freen's bad side. She's dangerous when provoked."
Non scoffed, waving a dismissive hand. "I can handle her. She's just a cold-hearted businesswoman who thinks she's untouchable. But everyone has a weakness. I'll exploit hers."
As the two plotted in hushed tones, Freen's determination only grew stronger. She would not let Non come between her and Becky, no matter the cost. With each passing moment, her resolve solidified, and she vowed to protect their relationship at all costs.
