The night was still and quiet when Becky woke up, her heart pounding for reasons she couldn't quite place. Lying in her old room at her parents' mansion, she stared at the ceiling, her mind racing with thoughts of Freen and the recent revelations about Non. She had tried to keep things calm around Freen, to not raise alarms, but tonight she needed answers.Glancing at the clock, she realized it was just after 2 AM. The rest of the house was asleep, and now was the perfect time for her to meet the one person who could give her the answers she sought. Becky quietly dressed and slipped out of the room, her footsteps light as she made her way down the grand staircase of the mansion.
When she reached the front door, she noticed the black SUV already waiting at the gate, its engine idling. The driver, a man in a black suit with a hood covering most of his face, stepped out and opened the back door without a word. Becky nodded at him before sliding into the backseat.
The drive through the quiet city streets felt longer than usual, each passing minute a reminder of the dangerous game she was playing. Finally, the SUV pulled up in front of an unmarked building—tall, imposing, and far from any prying eyes.
"Wait for me. I won't be long," Becky instructed the driver, who simply nodded in response.
She stepped out of the car, her heels clicking against the polished marble floor as she made her way inside. The building's security recognized her immediately, bowing their heads as she walked past them. Becky responded with a small nod, not stopping to speak. She had only one destination tonight: her office, the one hidden from public view.
As she entered the sleek, dimly lit space, her eyes locked on the figure already seated in the leather chair across from her desk. Billy, dressed in his usual all-black attire, leaned back casually, his dangerous aura filling the room. He was one of Thailand's top five mafia bosses, and Becky had known him long enough to understand how powerful he truly was.
"You're late," Billy said, his deep voice breaking the silence as he eyed her.
Becky ignored the comment, moving to sit behind her desk. "Did you find what I asked for?" she demanded, her voice cold and controlled.
Billy gave a slow, amused smile before tossing a folder onto the desk. "Everything on Non," he said. "You'll want to sit down for this."
Becky's fingers trembled slightly as she opened the file. She had suspected Non was involved in something dark, but what Billy had uncovered went far beyond her worst fears.
"He's not just obsessed with you," Billy began, his tone serious. "Non's been involved in drug trafficking for years. He's also connected to a rape case that happened while you were studying in England. Of course, he managed to cover it up with his family's influence."
Becky's heart sank as she continued reading. Each new revelation made her blood boil.
Billy leaned forward, his gaze sharp. "And that's not all. Non's been planning to get rid of Freen. Permanently."
The words hit Becky like a punch to the gut. Her hands clenched into fists, crumpling the edge of the file. "He wants to kill Freen?"
Billy nodded, his expression dark. "He sees her as the only obstacle between him and you. He'll do anything to remove her from the picture."
Becky's jaw tightened, her fury barely contained. She had known about Non's obsession for a long time, but this... this was something else. The thought of him plotting to harm Freen made her stomach twist with rage. Freen, the woman she had loved quietly for years, the woman who had unknowingly stolen her heart from the moment they met in university.
Becky stood abruptly, pacing the room. "He can't get away with this. No one threatens her. Not while I'm around," she seethed.
Billy watched her with a calculating look. "What do you want me to do about it?"
Becky stopped pacing and turned to face him. Her eyes were filled with determination, a fire burning deep within them. "I want to make sure Non never gets the chance to touch her. I want him watched, every move he makes reported back to me. And if he tries anything—anything at all—you take care of it."
Billy smirked, amused by the intensity in her voice. "You're giving me a lot of power here."
"Consider it insurance," Becky snapped, her voice hard. "I won't let anyone harm her."
Billy stood, straightening his jacket. "As you wish. But remember, Becky... this won't come without a price."
Becky's eyes darkened. "I don't care what it costs. Just make sure Freen stays safe."
With a nod, Billy left the office, leaving Becky alone with her thoughts. She sat back down in her chair, the weight of everything crashing down on her. She couldn't believe Non would go this far, and now, more than ever, she was determined to protect Freen at all costs.
As she sat there, Becky thought back to all the years she had loved Freen, silently and from a distance. It had been five long years of watching, waiting, and now that they were finally together, nothing—especially not Non—was going to take Freen away from her.
With renewed resolve, Becky stood and left the building, knowing exactly what she had to do next. No one threatened the person she loved and got away with it. Not in her world.
