HAYESY WAS FINALLY a year old. he has been slowly walking already, but falls on his butt every now and then.
i reach my arms out to him. "you can do it, you got it!"
jack was right next to me, filming.
hayesy stood up and waddled one foot after the other in my direction. he would stop a few times and lose balance but eventually came over to me and i embraced him in a hug.
"he's a smart little guy, taking after me." jack smiled.
i raised my eyebrows at him.
"honey, you didn't even know there was a city in new jersey. i think it's safe to say he gets his smarts from me."
jack leans his phone down and frowns at me. "that's not funny."
i laugh, grabbing hayesy and putting him on my hip. "it is funny. right my baby?" i turn to hayes. he giggles.
"see?" i say.
jack is stunned. "no! that is so not fair. and he's our baby."
i walk into the kitchen, flipping the switch on.
"i'm the one who gave birth to him."
"yeah, and i'm the one who gave you him."
we looked at each other for a moment of silence before laughing aloud.
"you're a goof." i open the fridge, grabbing the container of strawberries.
jack kisses my cheek from behind. "so are you."
i shake my head, smiling.
"alright, i'm gonna go workout downstairs for a bit. we ran drills yesterday, but i wanna get more of a lift in," he said, throwing a small white towel over his shoulder.
i smirk at him.
"can i go downstairs and watch?" i ask, biting my lip.
he quietly laughs, playfully shaking his head.
"no, but how about you go down on me later?" he teases, giving me that cheeky little grin i know all too well before he jogs downstairs.
i turn to hayesy. "well, it looks like you're visiting grandma this weekend! whoo hoo!"
