42. pregnancy test

requested!

MARRIED LIFE HONESTLY couldn't get any better. i've been married to jack for almost 3 years and everyday feels like a new adventure. we've built a home filled with laughter, understanding, unwavering support, and so much love.

currently, jack is at practice and i am slumped on the couch rewatching 'friends' for the millionth time. as i get up to pour myself a glass of water, my stomach clenches in pain. i don't feel so good...

i bolt into the bathroom, quickly flipping the switch on, and throw up into the trash bin. i stay there for quite some time until i feel somewhat good enough to stand up. i widen my eyes—knowing where this could possibly lead—and grab a pregnancy test from the cabinet.

a few moments later, the timer on my phone goes off. i take a deep breath and flip it over. holy shit. two pink lines!!

a huge smile breaks out onto my face. i can't believe i'm going to be a mom and jack is going to be a dad. this feeling is surreal.

i quickly clean everything up and when i'm done, i place the pregnancy test into a small, wooden box with a pink bow on top of it.

i whip out my phone and immediately start vlogging, wanting to capture these memories and, hopefully, jack's priceless reaction.

with the wooden box safely tucked in my bag, i hop in the car, my hands slightly trembling on the steering wheel. the drive to the rink feels like an eternity. each red light is a test of my patience, each green light is a surge of adrenaline. i can't help but play a hundred different scenarios in my head—his smile, his tears, maybe even stunned silence. all the works.

this is it. this is the moment. as i pull into the parking lot, i grab my phone, double-check the video settings, and take a deep breath. time to surprise jack.

i walk into the rink, the familiar scent of ice and anticipation filling my lungs. spotting jack on the ice with his team, i wait for a break in the practice. as he skates towards the bench, i call his name, holding up the small wooden box.

jack's blue eyes meet mine. i smile and offer him the box. after he takes his gloves off, he takes the box, carefully untying the pink bow. as he opens it, his eyes widen, pure shock washing over his face. he looks at me, a mix of disbelief and joy swirling within him.

"oh my gosh, you're pregnant?" he asks, his voice barely a whisper as he holds the test in his hands.

i nod again, tears starting to form in my eyes. he opens the small, rink door in a flash and pulls me into a huge hug, pressing a kiss to my forehead after.

after a moment, he pulls back, a wide grin on his face.
"i gotta show the guys!" he exclaims, and i laugh in return, watching as he skates back to his teammates, the small wooden box held high.

i hear cheers erupt as they gather around him, their excitement contagious. i wouldn't have it any other way.

it's been a hot minute since i've posted a new chapter. been going through quite a lot this year, but it feels good to post again. i graduate today um hello that's CRAZY. i'm so excited!!
i hope everyone is doing well and now that i'll be on summer break after today, i can't wait to get more chapters published! i promise you won't wanna miss it!!
