(Eliohn POV)

"You can't be serious director?" Well I'm serious about my decision and I have my connections to make it so that it will happen.

"Apologize Fox, but I have been asked to take a break from my work and needed some rest from all the stress these past few months." It's been only 2 weeks since I had purged the Sarkics across the galaxy.

"But we need expertise! Without you we might not make much progress with some of our investigation." He's not wrong.

"Yes, you are correct but high command has already have some temporary replacement for me till I return." Fox has a frustrated look written on his face.

No doubt not pleased about me having to take a vacation at a time which they deemed as crucial.

"Let the doc be Fox, he's right about needing to take a break, he's the few people we have that take one I think he deserved to have some rest." I hear Eagle argued.

Standing not far away as I finished up the last few reports for the day which would mark my leave for a six months.

"Eagle's right, you can't deny the doc his chance to take a break Fox plus high command approve of his request." Ursa added as Fox didn't look pleased.

"Are you sure about this decision of yours director?" Yes, I am... after all the mess I had been involve I think I need a time off.

Innovating, experimenting, testing, etc, might be enjoyable but once in a while a change from my usual routine isn't that bad.

I need the change once in a while and to keep myself sharp and not get dulled on repetitive tasks.

Plus I want to spend better time with my kids and since they're growing up I want to make most of the time left before they become adults.

Then there's also the bonus of me getting to know Alicia better and assess where our partnership may go even if I wasn't willing at the beginning.

Strange circumstances can blossom to a positive outcome between us so long as I  was careful.

And being too wary and paranoid can be unhealthy for me even if I'm a hyper transcendent intelligence that's an amalgamation of many things now.

"When had my life become complicated?" Oh, right ever since that shard appeared and got embedded into me.

"I can't go back on a promise now since I told my kids we'll be on vacation for the next six months." That made him back off knowing what will happen if Snow and Red be upset.

Those two ball of cuteness despite being teens could turn even the most hardened veteran to soften and smile at their presence.

Well more so for Snow and less so for Red as the latter was a mischievous prankster plus a cheeky teaser that riles up her unfortunate target.

"The stares were not worth the tease she made with that stunt last year when she wore that provocative Santa suit." I grumbled mentally.

I still had to glare at some adult men at staring at my daughter and at one time threatened a few with the promise of a painful death.

I know Red is at the right age and she is allowed to act like a young adult given her age but I refuse to let her grow to be indecent or influence badly by others.

Though it's inevitable that she'll be a seductress and alluring woman once she reach proper adulthood in a few more years.

Thankfully however she would at least remain a decent and upright woman but a mischievous and cheeky teaser.
