The lights dimmed as TWICE wrapped up their performance, the echoes of their cheers reverberating in the stadium. Sana turned to her left, watching Tzuyu silently as the younger girl waved to the crowd. There was something about Tzuyu tonight that caught Sana off guard, a quiet radiance that drew her in more than usual. Sana had always felt an inexplicable connection to her, but tonight, it seemed stronger.
As they made their way backstage, the group members began chatting, their adrenaline still high from the successful concert. Sana, however, remained quiet, her eyes occasionally drifting to Tzuyu, who seemed just as lost in thought.
"Hey, unnie, are you okay?" Jihyo asked, noticing Sana's distracted expression.
Sana snapped out of her daze and smiled, "I'm fine. Just tired, I guess."
But that wasn't entirely true. Her heart had been pounding all night, and she knew exactly why. Tzuyu had been occupying her thoughts more and more lately, and Sana couldn't deny her growing feelings any longer.
---
Later that night, after the group had returned to their hotel, Sana found herself unable to sleep. The moonlight spilled through the window, casting a soft glow across the room. She tossed and turned in bed, her mind swirling with thoughts of Tzuyu-her calm demeanor, her shy smile, and the way her presence always seemed to soothe Sana, even in the busiest of moments.
Unable to take it anymore, Sana slipped out of her bed and tiptoed down the hallway. She knew exactly where she was going.
She hesitated in front of Tzuyu's door. What was she even going to say? Should she tell her how she felt, or would that ruin everything?
Before she could overthink it any further, the door opened. Tzuyu stood there, wide-eyed but calm, as if she had been expecting Sana.
"Unnie?" Tzuyu whispered, her voice soft, yet full of curiosity.
Sana froze, her heart leaping into her throat. "Tzuyu, I...I just needed to talk."
Tzuyu opened the door wider, gesturing for Sana to come in. The room was quiet, save for the soft hum of the air conditioner. Tzuyu sat on the bed, her long hair flowing over her shoulders, and patted the spot next to her.
Sana hesitated for a second before sitting down. She could feel the warmth radiating from Tzuyu, and her heart raced even faster.
"What's wrong, unnie?" Tzuyu asked, her dark eyes filled with concern.
Sana opened her mouth to speak, but the words caught in her throat. She looked down at her hands, trying to steady herself. After a long pause, she finally managed to say, "Tzuyu, I've been feeling something for a while now... and I don't know how to say it."
Tzuyu's expression softened, and she placed a gentle hand on Sana's. "You can tell me anything."
Sana took a deep breath. "I think... no, I *know*... that I have feelings for you. More than just friendship. And it's been driving me crazy because I don't know how you feel, and I don't want to make things awkward between us."
Tzuyu was silent for a moment, her face unreadable. Sana's heart sank, and she was about to apologize for saying anything when Tzuyu spoke.
"I've felt the same way for a while now," Tzuyu said softly, her eyes never leaving Sana's. "I just didn't know how to bring it up."
Sana's breath caught in her throat as she looked at Tzuyu in disbelief. "Really?"
Tzuyu nodded, a shy smile spreading across her face. "I didn't want to make things weird between us either. But I'm glad you said something, unnie."
Sana felt a wave of relief wash over her, and before she could stop herself, she pulled Tzuyu into a tight hug. Tzuyu hugged her back, resting her chin on Sana's shoulder, and the two stayed like that for what felt like hours.
When they finally pulled apart, Sana couldn't help but laugh softly. "I guess we're both pretty bad at talking about our feelings, huh?"
Tzuyu chuckled, her eyes sparkling with warmth. "Yeah, but I'm glad we finally did."
Sana reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair away from Tzuyu's face. "So... what happens now?"
Tzuyu tilted her head slightly, a playful smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "I guess we take it one day at a time, unnie."
Sana grinned, her heart feeling lighter than it had in days. "Yeah, one day at a time."
And in that quiet moment, under the soft glow of the moonlight, both of them knew that no matter what, they would figure it out together.
