The room was dimly lit, with the soft glow of moonlight seeping through the windows, casting a serene atmosphere. Nayeon, Jeongyeon, and Jihyo were already settling into bed. It was one of those rare nights when the girls had no schedules and could simply enjoy a quiet evening together. The three of them, often regarded as the leaders of the group, had developed a close bond over the years, but their dynamic was always filled with a mix of teasing and love.
Nayeon, as usual, was the first to break the silence. “Do you ever think about how different things would be if we hadn’t become idols?” She stared at the ceiling, her mind wandering.
Jeongyeon, lying beside her, chuckled softly. “Are you getting all philosophical on us, Nayeon? You’ve been hanging out with Mina too much.”
Jihyo, from the other bed, smiled. “I think about it sometimes too. But at the end of the day, I’m grateful for everything—the good and the bad.”
“Yeah, I wouldn’t change it for anything,” Jeongyeon agreed. She turned her head toward Nayeon and grinned. “Though I could do without Nayeon stealing my snacks every day.”
Nayeon pouted. “I don’t steal! You offer them to me.”
“Sure, sure.” Jeongyeon rolled her eyes playfully, but the warmth in her voice was undeniable.
Jihyo watched the two with a fond smile. There was something comforting about their dynamic. Despite all the years and hardships, they still found ways to make each other laugh.
Meanwhile, in the next room, Sana and Tzuyu were finishing their night routine. Tzuyu, ever the quiet one, was brushing her hair while Sana sprawled on the bed, watching her with a mischievous smile.
“You know,” Sana began, “I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching you.”
Tzuyu raised an eyebrow, her lips curling into a teasing smile. “You’ve been staring for a while, unnie. Should I be concerned?”
Sana laughed, sitting up and leaning toward Tzuyu. “Maybe. Or maybe I just enjoy admiring my pretty girlfriend.”
Tzuyu blushed, though she tried to hide it by turning her head. “You’re being too flirty tonight.”
“And you love it,” Sana said with a wink, inching closer until she was right next to Tzuyu. “Admit it.”
Tzuyu looked at her, a teasing glint in her eye. “Fine, I love it… sometimes.” Before Sana could protest, Tzuyu leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the lips, leaving Sana momentarily speechless.
Sana recovered quickly, pulling Tzuyu down onto the bed beside her. “You’re lucky I love you.”
“I know,” Tzuyu replied smugly, wrapping her arms around Sana and pulling her close.
The two of them stayed like that for a while, basking in the quiet intimacy of the moment. It was these little moments—just the two of them, without the pressure of cameras or performances—that Tzuyu cherished the most.
In the room across the hall, Chaeyoung and Mina were lying side by side, their hands intertwined under the covers. Chaeyoung, usually the confident one, found herself feeling a bit nervous. They hadn’t officially confessed their feelings to each other yet, but everything about their relationship had been building up to this moment.
“You know,” Mina began, her voice soft, “the others are probably teasing us right now.”
Chaeyoung laughed, imagining Tzuyu calling out their ship name like she always did. “Yeah, Tzuyu probably has some savage remark ready for me.”
Mina giggled. “She really does enjoy teasing you.”
“Well,” Chaeyoung said, squeezing Mina’s hand a little tighter, “as long as I have you by my side, I can handle it.”
Mina’s heart fluttered at the sincerity in Chaeyoung’s voice. “Chaeyoung… do you ever wonder why we haven’t said it yet? You know… the L-word.”
Chaeyoung blinked, her heart racing. “I—well, I’ve been waiting for the right moment, I guess. But maybe there isn’t a perfect moment. Maybe we just… say it.”
Mina turned to face her, their eyes meeting in the moonlight. “Then let’s say it.”
Chaeyoung smiled nervously but felt a wave of calm wash over her as she looked into Mina’s eyes. “I love you, Mina.”
Mina’s eyes softened, her own smile breaking through. “I love you too, Chaeyoung.”
They didn’t need anything more than that. No grand gestures or dramatic confessions—just the simple, quiet truth of their feelings.
