The next week passed in a blur of packed schedules and long hours, with Sana and Tzuyu slipping in and out of stolen moments whenever they could. They had grown even more comfortable in their quiet, secret world—exchanging fleeting touches in crowded hallways, sitting beside each other on the bus when the group was too tired to notice, and sharing quick smiles that no one else seemed to pick up on.
But as the days wore on, something began to change. Sana could feel it, a subtle shift in the air between them. There was a growing weight on her shoulders, a tension in her chest that seemed to creep in every time they parted ways. She knew they couldn’t keep this up forever.
Sooner or later, someone would notice.
And it happened sooner than she expected.

It was a sunny afternoon, and the group was at a photoshoot for a magazine cover. Everyone was in good spirits, the atmosphere light and playful as they moved through their poses. Sana, as usual, was her energetic, bright self, throwing teasing winks at the camera and wrapping her arms around the members between takes. She didn’t notice the extra glances from the staff or the subtle tension growing between some of the girls—at least, not at first.
As the photographer called for a short break, the group scattered around the set, chatting and sipping water. Sana wandered over to the snack table, grabbing a bottle of water when she felt a light tap on her shoulder.
Turning around, she was met with Momo’s serious expression. “Sana, can we talk for a second?”
Sana blinked, surprised. “Sure, Momo. What’s up?”
Momo glanced around, making sure no one else was paying attention before she pulled Sana aside, her voice lowered. “I’ve been noticing something lately.”
Sana’s heart skipped a beat, a nervous flutter forming in her stomach. “Noticing what?”
Momo hesitated, her eyes flicking toward where Tzuyu stood, talking with Nayeon and Jeongyeon. “You and Tzuyu.”
Sana froze, her mind racing. “What do you mean?”
Momo gave her a knowing look, crossing her arms. “Sana, I’ve been in this group with you for years. I know when something’s going on. You and Tzuyu... you’ve been acting different lately.”
Sana swallowed hard, her pulse quickening. She knew Momo was perceptive, but she hadn’t expected her to notice so soon. She opened her mouth to deny it, to brush it off as nothing, but the look in Momo’s eyes stopped her. This was Momo, her best friend—someone she couldn’t lie to.
Sighing, Sana leaned in closer, her voice quiet. “Okay. Something *is* going on. But please, Momo, don’t say anything. We’re still figuring things out.”
Momo’s expression softened, her concern evident. “I’m not going to say anything, Sana. But... are you two okay? I mean, this kind of thing... it’s not easy to keep a secret forever.”
Sana bit her lip, her heart racing. “I know. But we’re trying to take it slow. We don’t want to complicate things with the group or the fans. We just... want to figure out what this is first.”
Momo nodded, her expression thoughtful. “I get that. But you need to be careful. The others might not be as understanding. And you know how things can get with the fans...”
Sana nodded, feeling the weight of Momo’s words settle heavily on her chest. She knew the risks all too well—how delicate the balance was between their private lives and their public personas. But the thought of losing what she had with Tzuyu, of having to hide it forever, was too much to bear.
