The tour bus hummed quietly as it rolled through the city streets, carrying TWICE back to their hotel after another long day of performances. Most of the members had fallen into a peaceful silence, some drifting off to sleep, while others scrolled through their phones or chatted quietly.
Sana, however, sat in her usual seat by the window, staring out at the glowing city lights that passed by in a blur. Her mind was restless, replaying the events of the last few days over and over again. Her feelings for Tzuyu, the quiet confession, and the promise they had made to take things slow—it was all still sinking in.
She glanced across the aisle, where Tzuyu was sitting with her earbuds in, her gaze fixed on her phone. Even though the younger girl looked calm, there was a new tension in the air between them. Not in a bad way, but in a way that made Sana hyper-aware of every glance, every brush of their arms, and every stolen smile.
Sana leaned her head against the cool glass of the window, closing her eyes. The warmth that she felt whenever Tzuyu was around was comforting, but it also made her heart race with uncertainty. What would happen if the other members found out? Would it change things within the group?
Before she could think about it too much, a soft nudge on her arm startled her. She opened her eyes to see Tzuyu standing next to her, looking down with a quiet smile.
“Unnie, can I sit here?” Tzuyu asked, her voice gentle, careful not to disturb the others.
Sana’s heart skipped a beat, but she nodded, moving over slightly to make room. Tzuyu slid into the seat next to her, her presence immediately making Sana feel a sense of calm and excitement at the same time.
For a few moments, neither of them spoke. The soft murmur of the other members’ voices and the quiet hum of the bus filled the space between them.
Sana glanced at Tzuyu, who was staring out the window now, her expression thoughtful.
“Are you okay?” Sana asked softly.
Tzuyu turned to look at her, a faint smile playing on her lips. “I’m fine. Just... thinking.”
“About us?”
Tzuyu’s smile grew, and she nodded. “Yeah. About us.”
Sana couldn’t help but smile in return, feeling her heart swell with warmth. There was something about Tzuyu’s calm demeanor that always made her feel at ease, even in the midst of uncertainty.
“Me too,” Sana admitted quietly. “It feels... a little strange, doesn’t it?”
Tzuyu looked down at her hands, fiddling with the hem of her sleeve. “It does. But it also feels... right.”
Sana’s breath caught in her throat at Tzuyu’s words. There was something so simple, yet profound, in the way she said it.
“I’m glad you feel that way,” Sana whispered. “Because I do too.”
They fell into a comfortable silence again, the city lights casting a soft glow on their faces. Sana leaned her head back against the seat, letting the quiet settle over them like a blanket. Being near Tzuyu, even in silence, made her feel more grounded than she had in days.
But after a few minutes, Tzuyu shifted slightly, her hand brushing against Sana’s on the seat between them. The touch was brief, almost accidental, but it sent a jolt of electricity through Sana.
She turned her head to look at Tzuyu, who had her eyes closed now, her face peaceful. Sana hesitated for a moment, her pulse quickening, before slowly and cautiously reaching out to take Tzuyu’s hand in hers.
Tzuyu didn’t open her eyes, but her fingers gently intertwined with Sana’s, squeezing softly in acknowledgment.
Sana’s heart raced, but she couldn’t stop the smile that spread across her face. It was a small gesture, but it felt like a promise—a silent understanding that they were in this together, no matter what uncertainties lay ahead.

Later that night, back in the hotel, the group settled into their rooms for the night. Sana shared a room with Mina, and as they prepared for bed, Mina couldn’t help but notice the faraway look in Sana’s eyes.
“You’ve been quiet lately,” Mina said softly, her tone curious but not prying. “Is something on your mind?”
Sana froze for a moment, unsure of how to respond. Mina wasn’t the type to push for answers, but she was perceptive—too perceptive sometimes.
“I’ve just been... thinking,” Sana replied, hoping that would be enough to satisfy her friend.
But Mina wasn’t so easily fooled. “Thinking about Tzuyu?”
Sana’s heart skipped a beat. She stared at Mina in shock, unsure of how to respond. “W-What do you mean?”
Mina smiled gently, sitting down on the edge of her bed. “It’s kind of obvious, Sana. You two have been spending a lot of time together lately. I’m not prying or anything, but I notice things.”
Sana bit her lip, unsure of how much to say. She hadn’t planned on anyone finding out so soon, especially not when she and Tzuyu hadn’t even figured things out themselves.
But Mina’s expression was soft, understanding, and it made Sana feel safe enough to be honest.
“I... I don’t know how to explain it,” Sana began slowly, sitting down beside Mina. “But things between me and Tzuyu have changed. We’ve been talking more, and... I think there’s something more there.”
Mina’s eyes softened with understanding. “I figured as much. You two have always had a special bond.”
Sana felt a wave of relief wash over her. She hadn’t even realized how much she had been holding in until now. “We’re taking it slow, but... it feels different, in a good way.”
Mina smiled, her voice gentle. “That’s all that matters, Sana. As long as you’re both happy, the rest will work itself out.”
Sana felt a lump in her throat, overwhelmed by how supportive Mina was being. “Thank you, Mina. I was so worried about what everyone would think.”
Mina reached out and squeezed Sana’s hand. “We’re all family, Sana. We just want you to be happy.”
Sana nodded, her heart feeling lighter than it had in days. “I really appreciate that.”
As Mina stood up and headed to bed, Sana felt a quiet sense of contentment settle over her. She knew there would be challenges ahead, but with people like Mina by her side—and with Tzuyu’s hand in hers—she felt ready to face whatever came next.
