The next day came like a breath Sakura couldn't catch. Every thought was filled with Kakashi—his touch, the way he had made her feel, the undeniable fire that had consumed them both. She arrived at school early, already craving the next time they'd be alone. Every second that passed felt like a step deeper into something she knew could ruin her, but she couldn't stop. She didn't want to stop.

Sakura adjusted her skirt, tugging it a little higher as she made her way through the empty hallways. She wondered what would happen today. Would Kakashi act like nothing had happened? Could he even? She felt the heat rising to her face as memories of the previous afternoon flooded her mind. He had been so careful, so tentative, but so wild at the same time.

As she walked, Ino's voice called out to her from the lockers ahead.

"Hey, forehead! You're early today. What, hoping to run into someone special?" Ino's tone was teasing, but her smile didn't quite reach her eyes.

Sakura chuckled nervously, her hand tightening around her bag strap. "No, just... thought I'd get some extra studying in. You know how it is."

Ino's eyes narrowed, but she didn't push. Instead, she looped her arm through Sakura's. "Sure, whatever you say. But you better come to lunch today. No more mysterious disappearances, got it?" Ino's laugh was light, but Sakura couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

The tension between them seemed to thicken as she walked into the creative writing classroom. Sakura took her usual seat, her heart pounding in anticipation. Kakashi entered the room soon after, his eyes briefly meeting hers. There was no change in his expression—no lingering heat, no flicker of acknowledgment of what had happened. He was the picture of professionalism.

But she felt it. She knew he felt it too.

Kakashi moved to the front of the room and began the lesson, speaking about themes of internal conflict and moral dilemmas. As he talked, Sakura's mind wandered to their own moral dilemma—how they had crossed that dangerous line. Her fingers absentmindedly traced circles on her notebook, her eyes following the way his hands moved as he wrote on the board.

But Ino's gaze from earlier didn't leave her.

It wasn't until the bell rang and class was dismissed that Sakura felt a pair of eyes burning into her. She glanced towards the door and caught Ino there, staring, her blue eyes sharp and searching. The same mischievous smile was gone, replaced with something far more curious. And it hit Sakura all at once—the reason for the unease this morning.

Ino had seen something.

After class, as the students shuffled out, Sakura lingered, waiting for a moment alone with Kakashi. Ino hovered by the door, watching, her lips pursed. Kakashi's eyes flicked to her briefly before focusing on the papers in his hand. He looked so calm, so in control, while Sakura felt like she was a live wire, sparking with tension.

Sakura stood and made her way toward Kakashi's desk. But before she could even think of saying something, Ino's voice sliced through the silence.

"Sakura, you coming? Or are you staying behind again?" There was an edge to her voice now, a knowing look on her face that sent a chill down Sakura's spine. Ino's eyes shifted from Sakura to Kakashi and back again, the implication clear.

Sakura swallowed hard, feeling the weight of Ino's suspicion. "Yeah, I'm coming," she answered quickly, gathering her things. She dared not look at Kakashi as she walked toward the door, but she could feel his gaze on her back, as though he too sensed the shift in the air.

As they walked down the hallway, Ino was unnervingly quiet. Sakura couldn't stand the silence, so she finally spoke. "Ino, what's up? You've been weird all morning."

Ino stopped abruptly, turning to face her. "I saw you yesterday," she said flatly, her voice low, but the accusation was clear.

Sakura's heart nearly stopped. "What—what are you talking about?"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about, Sakura." Ino crossed her arms, her eyes narrowing. "I went to the creative writing classroom yesterday after school to ask Kakashi-sensei about my paper. And when I looked through the door window, I saw you two."

Sakura felt the blood drain from her face, her stomach dropping like a stone. She wanted to deny it, to laugh it off, but she couldn't. Ino knew.

"I didn't mean to see it," Ino continued, her voice quieter now, more serious. "But Sakura... what the hell are you doing? That's—he's our teacher. You're going to get in serious trouble."

Sakura's mouth went dry. She tried to find her voice, but all that came out was a whisper. "Ino, I—"

"I'm not going to tell anyone," Ino cut her off, her tone sharp. "But you need to be careful. You think nobody else is going to notice if you keep acting like this? You're not exactly subtle, you know."

Sakura's face flushed with embarrassment and guilt. She hadn't even considered that someone could have seen them—that someone could have found out. But now that it had happened, the reality of the situation hit her like a punch to the gut.

"Ino, please, you can't—"

"I told you, I'm not telling anyone." Ino's gaze softened slightly, her voice a little less harsh.  "I don't know how long this has been going on between you two, and I don't want to know. Just... be careful. Don't let this ruin your life."

Sakura nodded, barely able to look her friend in the eyes. She felt the weight of her own recklessness crashing down on her. Ino was right—this could ruin everything. Her future, her reputation, Kakashi's career... it was all at risk.

As Ino turned to walk away, Sakura stood frozen, her mind racing. She had known the risks, but now that someone had actually seen them together, it felt all too real.

The rest of the day passed in a blur, but the dread never left her. She didn't return to Kakashi's classroom after school like she normally would. Instead, she walked home alone, her thoughts dark and heavy.

What if someone else saw them next time? What if they got caught? They had to be more careful.

What if this was the beginning of the end, just when it felt like it had only started?
