CHAPTER 𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓
━━━ 𖡺★☽⋆⋆❥ ✳︎✧ ━━━

I GRADUALLY WOKE UP. the
sun beaming through the curtains,
warming my face. I blinked a few times, adjusting to the light. For moment I forget where I was but then the events of last night came rushing back.

The argument at the booster party and ending up at Shawn's place. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand, which I had turned off last night. The moment I switched it on, a few missed calls and texts from Jordan, Olivia, Coach Baker, Grace and Spencer popped up. I had no idea how to react or what to say.

I sighed, turning off my phone again and pushed myself up on the bed. I still wore my dress from yesterday. The room was quiet, but I could hear faint sounds coming from the living room voices, soft laughter. Curious I stepped out of the bedroom and into the small, cluttered hallway.

As I entered the living room, I spotted Shawn sitting on the couch and Maya his daughter beside him. The moment she turned her around saw me. Her face lit up and she jumped off the couch, running over. "Harmony!" she squealed, wrapping her tiny arms around my waist. "You're here!"

"Hi princess! " I said with a soft laugh, leaning down to give her a hug. "You still remember me, huh?" She nodded eagerly, looking up at me with a wide smile. "Of course! Daddy told me today you got here late last night here."

I glanced at Shawn, who gave me a small smile. "Hope you don't mind," he said, scratching the back of his head. "She was excited when I told her you'd be staying over for a bit." I smiled back, feeling some of the tension ease out of my shoulders. "It's fine. I'm just glad to see her."

Maya took my hand and started pulling me towards the couch. "Come on, I was showing Daddy my new drawings. Wanna see?"

"Sure." I said, letting her lead me to the spot beside Shawn. She climbed up onto the couch and grabbed her coloring book, flipping through the pages. "This one's a butterfly and this one's a unicorn," she said proudly, pointing to each drawing in turn. "And this one's a rainbow!"

"They're beautiful, Maya," I said, genuinely impressed by the vibrant colors and details she'd put into each picture. "You've been practicing a lot, huh? I gave her playful nudge. "Yeah! Daddy got me new crayons last week," she said excitedly. Shawn chuckled softly, looking over at me. "You hungry? he asked. "Yeah, a little bit," I replied.

He got up and headed to the kitchen, leaving me alone with Maya. She snuggled up close, her small body warm against mine. "Are you staying for breakfast?" she asked hopefully, her eyes shining as she looked up at me.

"Yes" I said gently, brushing a loose strand of hair out of her face. "Yay! Maya exclaimed, hugging me tighter. "Daddy makes the best pancakes!" I glanced over at the kitchen, where Shawn was already setting up. "Hey, Maya, I'll be right back," I said, gently freeing myself from her embrace.
