FULL MOON EFFECT (PART III)

Driving towards the road that led to Havelock Forest, Scarlett was lost in thought. She had discovered what her true identity is, and she had to do the inevitable. She didn't want to, but she had no choice but to.

Stopping the car at the forest gate, she heard a howl, and the scent hit her. This time, it was more intense. More violent. She felt her body heat up. She closed the windows and got out of the car. Walking towards the gates, her body started to ache. 

She threw her keys behind the gate where only she could see them. Once she was satisfied with the safety of her property, she walked closer to the gates. As soon as she walked in through, she felt a soft hand grab her by the wrist. She turned around and found herself locking gazes with Conan.

"You're really here."

"What are you doing here Scarlett? I told you not to come in here."

"I was told to find you."

"By who?"

"It doesn't matter. You're here after all."

"What do you mean by am here after all? Who told you to find me?"

"It's true."

"What is that supposed to..."

He was interrupted as Scarlett held the back of his head and pulled him into a kiss.

Realizing what was going on, Conan took the liberty of placing his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to his body. Moments later, Scarlett broke the kiss.

"What was that for?"

"I don't know. It just happened. Why did that happen? What did you do?"

"I did nothing. I guess your body really longed for me."

"Yeah, only in your dreams lover boy."

"But you still didn't answer my question."

"How long have you known that am your mate?"

"Oh... so you know?"

"I just found out. And I think because I'm your mate, you were able to use my wolf side to make me kiss you."

"What do you mean by that?"

"You know what I mean Conan. But that's not the question. The question is, how long have you known that am your mate?"

"Not long. I just found out a week ago."

"Why didn't you tell me yesterday?"

"Because I didn't want to seem weird, and I didn't want you to take matters the wrong way. I wanted you to find out on your own."

"That's not fair. We are supposed to be friends, aren't we?"

"Technically, we are supposed to be soulmates."

"Whatever. Either way, you are supposed to be honest with me."

"Yeah. I know. But I didn't want you to hate your family for not telling you the truth. I just wanted them to tell you. The right way."

"What do you mean by the right way? Explain."

"They wanted Twyla to shine through."

"What do you mean by Twyla?"

"Your wolf. Did you really think Twyla was just your middle name?"

"Am... yeah. Isn't that what normal people have?"
