Months passed, and Nakul's mental state grew worse. The distance between him and the child grew, and soon, he started having the same nightmares he had during the pregnancy. Dark shadows, ancient voices, and a figure cloaked in darkness came to him in his dreams, warning him of what was to come. The child was growing in power, and soon, Nakul would have to make a choice—whether to embrace the child as his own or confront the curse that still lingered.
One night, Nakul awoke to find the baby standing in the crib, staring directly at him, its eyes glowing faintly in the darkness.
"Papa," the child whispered, though it had never spoken before.
Nakul's heart raced, panic overtaking him as he stumbled back. "What... what are you?"
The child tilted its head, its gaze unblinking. "I'm yours. And you're mine."
Terrified, Nakul ran from the room, his mind racing. He collapsed in the hallway, shaking, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
Pradyuman found him there and, knowing it was time, knelt beside his son. "Nakul, there's something I need to tell you. About the child."
