As Nakul and Abhijeet stood in quiet conversation, a soft knock interrupted the moment. The door creaked open, and Riya, Nakul's love, stepped inside with a bright yet concerned look on her face. Her eyes immediately softened as they fell on Aisha, still sleeping peacefully in her crib.
"Nakul, I heard everything," she said gently, her voice filled with both love and curiosity. "How are you? And how is... our little princess?"
Nakul's heart skipped a beat at her words. He hadn't expected Riya to come so soon, or to react this way. He had feared her disappointment, her shock. But the warmth in her voice reassured him that she was there for him, no matter what. He turned toward her, a small, hesitant smile forming on his lips.
"I'm... managing," Nakul said, his voice low. "But Aisha... she's been the light in all of this. I've been scared, Riya. Scared of not being enough for her. I don't know how to be a father."
Riya stepped closer, her hands gently resting on his arms. "You're already doing more than you realize," she whispered. "You've made it this far, and look at her... she's healthy, and she's loved."
Nakul glanced toward Aisha, still feeling a twinge of uncertainty. But Riya's touch grounded him, reminding him that he wasn't alone in this new chapter.
