HUH YUNJIN
the next day

The sun had rose for the day, which woke me up. I was sitting on my bed, leaning against the headboard, reading my book. I could hear the movements of Chaewon and her gang on the other side of my door.

Then, my door suddenly opened. I looked up from my book to see Chaewon stand there. "Rise and shine Yunjin" She says, with a playful smirk. "It's only the first day, and your joking with me?" I ask, and eyebrow raised at her actions.

She lets out a sigh. "Do you always kill the mood?" She asks, which causes a small smile to form on my face. She smiled back, mischievously of course. "Come on kiddo, breakfast time" She said, then left the room. She had left the door open behind her.

I hate when people do that.

I quickly got up and headed out the room, immediately walking to the kitchen. In the kitchen, I saw a bunch of different people, laughing and joking around. My eyes soon fell on Chaewon. She was laughing with her gang. I felt my heart speed up a bit, she was beautiful. Really beautiful. I quickly calmed my heart and sat down in an empty seat.

"Hey, you must be the new girl huh?" The duck looking one said.

Chaewon then threw her a glare. "Quiet Yena, leave her alone" she ordered. "What? Just trying to get to know the girl that's got our boss going soft" She said with a smirk. I looked at Chaewon with confusion.

Chaewon gave me an apologetic look, which I nodded in response too. Chaewon stood up, and the whole room went quiet. "Alright everyone, You all know that I have let in the girl, and it's time you knew her by name. Her name is Huh Yunjin" Chaewon announced. I felt a sudden wave of nervousness as everyone turned to look at me.

"Um... Hi" I said, nervousness evident in my voice. One of the members leaned close. She looked me up and down. "Yuri" Chaewon said with order. She stepped back. I felt my heart begin to slow down. "Welcome!" another said. She had a wide friendly smile. She looked way younger than me. "I'm Eunchae, this is Garam, Yuri, Yena, Sakura, and Chaewon but you already know her" The younger girl said, pointing to each one. I nodded and gave her a small smile.

The rest of them went back to doing what they were doing. Sakura had set a plate of food down in front of me. I looked up at her and thanked her, then I ate.

-

It was around noon, and I was outside on some porch. All I saw was trees. it looked like a wooded area behind their hideout. Perfect place for Intruders to hide. I was reading silently. I liked reading, and plus my phone was charging and I had nothing else to do.

I was trying really hard to not bother Chaewon at all, it seemed she was busy today. I didn't want to be an distraction to her. From what I seen today, her and her gang members get along well. Sure they have differences but doesn't everyone?

They genuinely care for each other. They looked out for each other, something I never had. Sure, I was envious. But I quickly snapped out of it. My thoughts were interrupted by someone coming out. "There you are" a familiar voice said. I closed my book, and turned to see Chaewon. She was standing there, she ran a hand through her hair.

"Oh... Hi" I said, putting the book down. "So, how you like it so far?" She asks with a friendly smile. Then she walks up to the railing surrounding the porch and leans against it. She was facing me. "It's okay so far" I said. She nods and lights up a cigarette. "I know, not exactly the best place but safer than where you were before" She says, taking a drag of the cigarette.

"Yeah" I say. There's a small string of silence. the only noise being the wind rustling the leaves on the trees.

"So... you go to school Yun?" She asked, looking at me softly. I sighed and nodded. "College?" She asks. I nod. "Okay, well... You do need to go back to college" She says, looking out to the trees. "So what do you suggest I do? go back home to my stepdad?" I say. She throws a small glare at me. "No... Hell no, you're going no where near that son of a bastard again" She says sharply.

"So then what?" I ask, now standing next to her. "I can drive you, drop you off and pick you up. If anyone messes with you, you tell me immediately" She says, looking intently in my eyes. I gulped and nodded. She smirks. "Good girl..." She says, then. walks away. I felt a pang in my heart. It's warm.

What the hell is going on with me?

I grab the book and head back inside.

-

I woke up in my bed, sweating and gasping. I just had a nightmare about my stepdad, and I was scared. I looked beside me to the clock. 12:36am. I sat there for a moment, before I decided.

I got up slowly, and I walked to the kitchen. I was thirsty and I needed some water. I quickly filled a glass with cold water and was heading to my room. I froze when I heard something. It sounded like talking. I saw a crack of light coming from a room. I carefully and quietly walked to it, peaking through the crack. To see Sakura and Chaewon at a table.

"Seriously Chaewon, what if they attack her?" Sakura says worriedly. "Relax Sakura, She'll be fine" Chaewon says, waving her off. I narrowed my eyes in confusion. Were they talking about me? "Chae... this isn't some game, this is serious. they are known for brutality" Sakura says.

"Sakura, she will be fine. She's just a damn girl... She doesn't need anything" Chaewon says. "So what are you going to do now?" Sakura asks. "Leave her to fend for herself, she caused it, so she gotta figure it out. not everyone can protect her" Chaewon says, followed by a sigh from Sakura.

A pang of sadness washes over me. I can't believe this. After everything she said, she is just going to leave me to fend for myself? What a bitch. I go to my room leaving the glass on the bedside table. I grab the little things I have, including my phone. I carefully sneak out the hideout through the back.

"Back to plan one, leave this town" I say to myself as I walk away from the building. I don't need her, and if she was going to treat me like that, she didn't need me either. I looked back one last time. The building getting smaller and further away.

She didn't need me, and I didn't need her...
