chapter 27

KIM CHAEWON

"What? No! I didn't do it. it was Chaewon I was there" Nako says defensively. "Oh, look who's defensive now" Hitomi says, glaring at Nako. "Wait, but how? Hitomi, you and Hyewon were blaming Chaewon along with Nako" Yuri says.

I stay silent, watching the scene intense. I glance back at Yunjin a few times to make sure she's okay.

"I know, but their was one person who wasn't there that night" Hitomi says, then Chaeyeon steps up. "I was there Hitomi. I saw everything, heard everything" Chaewon said, the whole room goes silent. Then Chaeyeon begins to explain what happened before I went into that kitchen, before Eunbi died.

— FLASHBACK —

LEE CHAEYEON

I sat on the couch, reading my book. I had headphones in but nothing was playing. Soon enough, I heard yelling. I looked up to see Eunbi arguing with Nako. "Nako! She's just a kid!" Eunbi yelled. "I don't care, she's ruining my life!" Nako yelled back.

"Do you even care? She was kicked out of her own home by her own parents for being into women!" Eunbi yelled in response. Nako snapped. "I don't fucking care! Everyone cares about her but not me?" Nako says. "Not when you act like this!" Eunbi shouts.

I looked at the fight, wondering what was happening. I knew who they were talking about. Yuri, and Yena were Nako's best friends, plus Nako had a crush on Yuri for a while. Ever since Eunbi took Chaewon in, we all have been making her feel at home.

Chaewon was only fifteen, she was just kicked out of her house. She was only a teenager. A kid. Sakura and I also cared for her while Eunbi was gone. I helped out Eunbi alot. Nako didn't like Chaewon since day one. Nako though that maybe their was more than just being into girls was why she was kicked out.

"YOU'RE A FUCKING MONSTER!" Eunbi yelled very loudly. "What? it's true!" Nako shouts. "SHE'S FIFTEEN YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE! HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT!" Eunbi screams. I have never seen Eunbi this protective of someone before. Eunbi thought of Chaewon as her younger sister since day one.

Nako stormed off to the kitchen, and Eunbi stormed outside to have a cigarette. I saw Nako grab something out her pocket and I quietly got a closer look and listen. that's when I heard it.

"If everyone won't see it, then I'll fucking get rid of her..." Nako muttered. My eyes widen. She was going to poison Chaewon. Get rid of her for good. for what? Jealousy? Was she that upset her friends were caring for a child?

I walked back to the couch and pretended to mind my business. Then I heard Chaewon's voice. I watched the entire scene, just as Eunbi came back in and took the water from Nako and drank it. I felt guilty, and I saw Nako give me a death glare. She was daring me to say something.

I stay quiet, not wanting to make the situation worse. I knew everything was about to go down. The four screaming Chaewon left, and I quietly followed them out.

KIM CHAEWON

I was in shock. I was supposed to die that night, not Eunbi. All because Nako and her jealous rage. "No... She's lying!" Nako tried to defend herself. "But it's true, we reviewed the footage of that night. You did it" Hitomi said, then turning to me.

"Chaewon I'm so sorry this happened, I'm sorry for blaming you for a murder you didn't commit" Hitomi says, Hyewon nodding with her. I smile softly. "It's okay, I've moved on" I say. Nako shouts angrily. "No, that's edited! She's lying!" Nako says.

I waste no time and raise my gun to her head. "Nako, all these years you accused me of something I didn't do. that is unforgivable" I say, my finger on the trigger.

Nako is frozen in fear. "Wait please-" Aoud bang is heard. Nako's lifeless body falls to the ground. Everyone is silent for a moment. then we all cheer. "Finally! Eunbi is avenged!" Hyewon shouts. I smile and walk over to Yunjin. "Chae?" She says softly. I help her of the ground. "Ah, finally. you're back in my arms" I say, holding her against my body.

She looks at me. We both lean in and share a passionate kiss. Finally, my life feels complete now.
