HUH YUNJIN
the next day

I woke up, the sun was shining but the light was dimmed due to the curtain. I sat up, my hair messy from my sleep. There was talking from the outside of the room. I guess it's just the other people.

I got up and got myself situated. Then I headed out for breakfast. I knew how the homeless shelter worked, stayed here for a couple weeks before, tho I was out into the system because I was only 16.

I walked into the common room, where everyone else was. some were playing cards and chatting. others were smoking. I just got a breakfast sandwich and sat down. then I spotted an old friend, Yu Jimin. But her friends call her Karina. She noticed me pretty quickly, because she called out to me. "Oh shit! is that you Yun?" She asked from the other side of the room, a grin on her face.

I smiled back and waved. She walked over to me and sat down.

"So, what brings you back here?" She asked, taking a drag of her vape. I looked down, remembering why I'm here. My stepfather.

Then my mind wanders to Chaewon. I try to push those thoughts down.

I wonder if she has noticed I'm gone?

"Uhh... Yunjin?" Karina says, waving a hand in front of my face. I shake my head slightly and look at her. "Uh?" I manage to say. "You didn't answer my question... What brings you back here" She asked again. "Same old reason" I reply, looking down, fidgeting with my hands.

"Damn, that asshole still?" She said, I nodded. "You know, you really need to tell the cops" She says, taking another drag. I eye the vape in her hand, and I guess she notices. She holds the vape out to me. "Wanna try some?" She asks, holding it to me.

What's a little bit gonna do to me?

I take the vape from her, and I take a drag. I immediately start coughing. "Woah, that's a big hit" She says, taking the vape from me and she hands me some water.

I take the water and sip it immediately. "Thanks" I say, with a strained voice. "No problem, probably should get some fresh air" Karina says, glancing at the door. I nod and get up, throwing away my breakfast sandwich.

I step outside, the breeze hitting my face. I close my eyes. I lean against the wall, silently looking at everything. That's when I notice something. A girl walked through the street. She had brown shoulder length hair. She was incredibly muscular.

She almost looks like Yena...

I kept eyeing the girl, trying to see if that really was Yena. Then the girl turned to look at me. It was Yena. The girl eyed me for a second, then turned around and walked away the way she came.

I felt my heart race a bit. Why was she here? Did Chaewon send her? Did Chaewon notice I left?

I went inside, needing to take a hit shower to ease my racing heart and mind.
