The next morning, Sophia woke up due to the incessant  alarm clock making her ask groggily muttering..

"Who the hell set this torture device?"

With that she rose up and goes to wash up.

After some minutes spent, she got out and did the necessities with a perfectly looking hair do.

"Why do white prefer mini dresses? I couldn't even sit comfortably the previous day" She muses, studying herself on the full-size mirror.

"Wow! I'm mastering this  accent quickly —impressive"

"I'm surprisingly learning fast"

Sophia walked into the sleek kitchen really expensive one, expecting a warm breakfast. Instead, she was met with Penelope's icy stare, her eyes narrowed into slits.

"Good morning, Sophia," Penelope said, her voice dripping with condescension.

"I'm afraid you're not on the breakfast list. Mr. Lee's personal assistants don't usually 'mingle with the staff.' You know the rules."

Sophia raised an eyebrow, her eyes locked on Penelope's. "What rules? I thought I was his Personal Secretary. Didn't Mr. Lee make that clear?"

Penelope's smile twisted, her lips curling upward. "Oh, that? That's just a pity appointment that Mr. Lee didn't tell you the rules of this house. Maybe Mr. Lee felt sorry for your... fragile state, that's all. You're just a charity case."

             °Charity case? °

Sophia's eyes narrowed, her voice firm. "What do you mean by 'my condition'? You think you know me? I'm not some fragile doll, Penelope."

Penelope snickered. "Come on, Sophia. Don't play dumb. You're not naive. You think Mr. Lee chose you for your exceptional skills? Please. You're just a favor to him. A temporary distraction."

°Temporary distraction? °

Crystal, who was expertly flipping pancakes for Lisa the chef on duty, intervened. "Penelope, that's enough. You're crossing the line."

She gave Sophia the look that says

'Don't just mind'

Penelope glared at Crystal, her eyes flashing with malice. "Mind your own business, Crystal. You're just a maid. You don't know the dynamics here."

Sophia's face flushed, her anger simmering. "She knows enough."

Just then, Mr. Lee walked in, his eyes scanning the room.

"Problem here?" he asked, his voice commanding, walking down the stairs gently with hands in his pocket.

Penelope's expression transformed into one of fake concern as she slightly bends.

"Oh, Master, Sophia pushed me violently to the floor when I told her not to speak ill of you to Crystal."

Sophia's eyes widened. "That's a lie! I didn't touch her. You're just trying to provoke me."

Mr. Lee's gaze turned cold, his voice firm. "Sophia"

As their eyes met which he breaks immediately.

"You'll apologize to Penelope and face the consequences."

Penelope smiled inwardly, triumphant.

             °B**ch!!°

Crystal rushed to Sophia's side. "Master, it's not true! Penelope was just trying to provoke Sophia."

Mr. Lee raised his hand, silencing Crystal.

"Enough. Sophia, apologize to Penelope."

Sophia's cheeks burned as she apologized, her eyes locked on Penelope's smug.

"I'm sorry, Penelope," Sophia said, her voice tight.

°I can't believe he let me do this ugh!!!!!!°

°Perharps she's right°

Penelope accepted the apology, her eyes flashing with malice. "You'll pay for this, Sophia," she whispered.

"You're just a temporary fixture here. Don't get too comfortable."

Mr. Lee's gaze lingered on Sophia, his expression unreadable.

"Take off the office wear" He says coldly.

"Why? " Sophia asks.

"You'll stay home and serve your punishment" He says icily making Sophia dramatize playfully.

"Oh Master please forgive me. I have  no energy left"  which made Mr. Lee snigger unawares leaving everyone  speechless as the room fell dead.
