The next morning, Sophia entered the breakfast room, looking radiant.

Mr. Lee's gaze flickered, his expression softening for a moment before returning to its usual coldness.

"Good morning," Sophia said, pouring herself coffee.

"Morning," Mr. Lee replied, his voice firm.

As they ate, Sophia chatted enthusiastically, but Mr. Lee's responses were brief. Penelope watched, seething.

"Like i'm still in awe on how yesterday ended"

After breakfast, Mr. Lee instructed Sophia on the day's schedule. "We have a meeting at 10 am. Be ready."

°So soon— i just hope i'll fell comfortable although it's my first defence fashi the ones done back in secondary school°

Sophia nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves.

Sophia took up his suit case immediately.

"Don't bother i'll take it" Kai says with a smile.

"Ok sorry i forgot it's your job" Sophia smiles nervously.

Kai could only smile.
"No worries"

"So how much are you preparing for the defence if i'm to say? " He adds.

"Much more than you think" Sophia says with a grin.

"Ehmmmm—" Kai scraches the back of his head.

"Any p?" Sophia asks curiously.

"Ehmmmmmm how's Crystal? I mean it's not bad asking about someone or—"

"She's fine oh. Don't think too much" Sophia interrupted with a wink.

"Think too much? "

"Are you guys done? " Mr. Lee suddenly asked coldly breaking the conversation.

Just to see him arms folded.

"Sorry Master" Kai said with a slight bow moving over to the driver's seats as Sophia followed behind.

"Nah! Nah! You're gonna seat with me today" Mr. Lee says with a playful as Sophia sighed in resignation as she did  'a back turn'

During the meeting, Sophia impressed Mr. Lee with her sharp insights and innovative ideas. His expression remained stoic, but his eyes betrayed a hint of approval.

°She's really something°Mr. Lee thoughts with a smile at the corner of his lips.

°Wow! I never knew i could say this much..... SO GOOD. BRAVO! Sophy! °

Later, as they took a break in the garden, Sophia teased Mr. Lee about his serious demeanor. "Don't you ever smile, Mr. Lee?"

Mr. Lee raised an eyebrow. "What's there to smile about?"

Sophia grinned mischievously. "Me, perhaps?"

Mr. Lee's gaze lingered, his expression softening for a fleeting moment.

°You°

As the day progressed, Sophia found herself stealing glances at Mr. Lee, noticing the way his eyes crinkled at the corners when he concentrated.

Finally, it was time to prepare for the charity event he talked about in the car.

"Get ready," Mr. Lee said, his voice firm. "We leave in an hour."

"An hour? " Sophia asked in shock.

Sophia's heart skipped a beat as she rushed to her room.

She did her best to freshen up and look good but all thanks to Crystal who stayed by her side.

°Thank you so very much you're such a darling°

As she emerged, stunning in her gown, Mr. Lee's expression remained cold.

"You look... acceptable," Mr. Lee said, his voice measured.

Sophia smiled, undeterred. "Thanks, Mr. Lee."

At the event, Mr. Lee remained by Sophia's side, his cold demeanor thawing subtly whenever she spoke.

"You seem to be enjoying yourself," Mr. Lee observed, his voice softening.

Sophia nodded. "I am, thanks to you."

Mr. Lee's gaze lingered, his eyes betraying a hint of warmth.

As they danced, Mr. Lee's hand on Sophia's waist sent shivers down her spine.

"You're not like other women," Mr. Lee whispered, his breath tickling her ear.

°Is he drunk already?°

Sophia's cheeks flushed. "What do you mean?"

Mr. Lee's gaze intensified. "You see beyond this facade."

Sophia's heart skipped a beat. "And what do you see?"

Mr. Lee's expression softened, his voice barely audible. "A woman who deserves more."

"I can't believe you finally found Ms. Samantha deservable" Sophia says with a smile.

"Would i be mistaken if i say it's you?"
He asked as a spark of electricity went through my spine. Like magic

Penelope watched the time..... It's almost midnight, her jealousy boiling over.

As the night ended, Sophia felt a connection with Mr. Lee she couldn't ignore.

"Thanks for tonight, Mr. Lee," Sophia said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mr. Lee's gaze lingered, his voice low. "You're welcome, Sophia. You shine brightest in the darkest rooms."

"Kai! I think your master drank too much tonight" Sophia calls Kai on phone in a whisper.

"Maybe because of you" Kai says on the phone.

"Stop with the flattering and come pick us up" Sophia says.

"Alright  Mrs. Lee" Kai says ending the call making Sophia scoff.

The tension between them was palpable, leaving Sophia wondering what lay ahead.
