Eclipse POV
Mangle carries me back to the daycare, blood still smeared around her mouth. I watch her nervously, but when she notices me looking, she smiles. Entering the daycare, she hands me over to Sun. I see Moon approaching with a smile as well.
Sun takes me gently into his arms, his familiar warmth surrounding me. “Oh, my little star, you're safe now,” he whispers, his voice soothing. His tail curls protectively around my waist, holding me close.
‘The stars… where is the Newton Star?’ I wonder. ‘It can give me my old body back, but where is it?’ I think to myself, lost in thought.
Suddenly, Sun grabs a wire from the building, attaching it to his back. He lifts us both, flying upward toward the ceiling where stars glow softly in the darkened sky. The lights are breathtaking, each one shimmering with a unique brilliance. He holds me tight, his tail securing me so I won’t fall.
For the first time, my own tail unfurls from my body, something that feels strangely freeing. I giggle softly as my small hands reach toward the glowing lights, trying to grasp them. Sun’s laughter fills the air, light and joyous.
“I see you like the stars, my little starlight,” Sun says with a warm smile, his eyes twinkling. “Apollo, Solar, and Lucy love them too. So did your cousins. One day, you’ll get a star of your own. I promise.”
His words make my heart swell as he flies us around, showing me each star. My eyes widen in awe, mesmerized by their beauty. ‘They’re so beautiful. I’ve never seen anything like this before,’ I think, moving closer to Sun, feeling safe in his arms. Sleepiness starts to take over, and as Sun rubs my back gently, I can’t resist the urge to close my eyes.
Sun POV
I look down at Eclipse as his breathing slows, a soft smile on his face as he drifts off to sleep. Moon walks over, smiling at the sight. “Looks like the little guy finally got to see the stars,” Moon says with a chuckle, ruffling my hair gently, being careful of an old injury.
“Yeah, I think he really likes them. He’s just my little starlight,” I reply, my heart swelling with pride as I hold him close to my chest. Together, Moon and I head back down to the daycare, taking the elevator to return home.
As we descend, I look at Moon seriously. “By the way, Lunar is not babysitting again.”
Moon laughs a little, trying to ease the tension. “Yeah, he still has a lot to learn. But hey, at least we didn’t have to deal with a hospital trip this time!”
I chuckle softly, but my decision is firm. “Lunar’s on babysitting probation for a long while.”
