Indies pov
I'm officially ungrounded and I'm sitting at Lainey's softball game. I had to set things straight with her even though she'd been ignoring me since the party.

After they finished I walked over out of sight of our parents and tapped her. "Hey Lainey" I mumble.
"What Indie?" She snapped.

"I think I uhm, I might like you"

"Really? Like, like me? Like me?"

"Yeah, that's what I mean"

"But, I'm a freshman, and your a senior"

"But once we graduate it won't matter, age is just a number"

"I hate that saying"

"Lainey! Let's go! We're going too your mamaws for supper!" Her dad yelled. "Indie, I- I gotta go" she stutters walking away. "Please call me later, so we can finish this" i exclaim.

As I walk away my sister jumped on my back. "Ellie! Stop!" I shout. "What were you two discussing?"she asks.
"None of your business" I reply.

"Oh cmon, I haven't snitched yet" she mentions. I ignore her request and walk to my truck. "Good game, I guess" I mumble. "Well, thanks I guess" she snapped back at me.

Once we came home i sat down at the table.

Kaceys pov
Indie has been quiet the whole time we've been eating and I'm getting worried, last time he was quiet he was planning a sneak out.

"You alright Indie?" I ask. "I'm fine, just have a headache" he replies. His phone rang and he jumped up with it.
"I've gotta take this" He blurted speed walking upstairs.

Ellie's pov
I knew good and well Indie didn't just have a headache, Talking to Lainey, The rumors, His little romance moment in Las Vegas.

I put my dishes in the sink and rinsed them quickly. "I'm finished, the chicken was good mom" I quickly spoke walking towards the stairs.

"Your not going upstairs to spy on indie are you?" Dad asks. "No" I reply. "Quite the coincidence you finished your plate right when he got a phone call" dad explains.

"I can finish when he gets a phone call, that's not a crime" I say. "Guess so" dad replies. I walk upstairs and stand at Indies door to hopefully catch what he's saying.

He was dumb enough to put his phone on speaker so I heard both ends of the conversation.

"Listen, I know that kiss meant something to both of us, you wouldn't have just done it"

"It did, but, we can't date Indie, the age difference will throw everyone off"

"What if we just date in secret? And then when we graduate we can be together"

"Indie, how are we gonna do that? We can't sneak around for 3 years"

"Why can't we? We can atleast try"

"I need to tell Ellie"

"Hell no! She's my sister!"

"I can! She's my best friend!"

"I'm not saying a word to her"

I scoff a little louder than I wanted until Indie hung up and swung the door open. I stood there awkwardly.
"What the hell Ellie!" He shouted. "Language" dad scolded.

"She sat there and listened to my whole damn conversation!" Indie shouted. "Language! And Ellie you shouldn't be up here butting in his business!" Dad scolded.

"But dad! He's trying to date Lainey in secret!" I shout, Indies eyes grew wide and he smacked my arm.
"Shut your mouth Ellie!" He snapped.

I rubbed my arm slightly staring up at dad. "Stay out of his business! And you stop hitting people!" He yelled at both of us.

I speed walked to my room and slammed myself onto the bed. I stared at the ceiling venting my frustration to Rae.
"He's such an ass, everything I do is a problem to him"

"You did spy on him through his door.." she mentions. "I guess, but it's not just that, he told me it was my fault that we got in trouble but it was his idea to sneak out"

After awhile of talking I heard a knock on my door. "Come in" I mumbled. Indie opened the door and closed it as he walked in.

"Uhm, sorry I slapped you, and cursed at you, and I'm sorry for being a jerk" he mumbled. "If this was forced by mom and dad i don't wanna hear it" I mumble.

"Mom and dad are asleep, I just felt bad" he says. I stared confusingly at him. "Your serious?" I ask, he nods.
"I forgive you, but I'm sorry for spying on you, and snitching on you, I actually think you and Lainey would be a good couple" I trail off.

"This is weird, us being nice to each other" he mentions. "Tell me about it" I reply. "Hate to ask but, any advice on my situation?" He asks obviously stressed.

"I'd go for it, the age difference isn't that bad, plus you like eachother" I suggest. "And I've got to ask, the kiss rumors were real?" I ask, he nodded.

"She was drunk, and it just happened" he explains. "You kissed her?" I ask. "No, she kissed me" he replies.
"Better get to bed, wouldn't wanna miss school" I suggest.

"Ok, goodnight" he mumbled walking out my door. I thought for a second and fell asleep.

Indies pov
I'm sitting at lunch when I spot Lainey, I waved at her and she waved back but ignored me as she walked to the table.

Ellie came over towards me and thumped me in the head. "It's the one time you see her a day other than softball, go say something" she demanded.

"I don't wanna be weird" I reply. "Get your blonde ass over there now" she demanded pulling my arm.
"Your blonde too, you can't say that" I tease.

As I'm drug towards the table Lainey stared at me. "Say hello Indie" Ellie demands. "Hello Indie" I reply, Lainey laughed.

"You afraid of me?" Lainey asks. "Why would I be? It's not like you've been ignoring me for the past week" I tease.
"Well, if you got slap drunk and kissed someone wouldn't you?" She snapped back.

"Probably" I reply, we both laugh.
