Lana

I ran into the room I was told he was in as soon as I got to the hospital.

My eyes searched the room hurriedly praying that his condition was not as bad as my mind had imagined it to be.

The first thing I noticed as soon as I entered was that he wasn't in his bed.

I was about to go and raise an alarm when his voice met my ears.

"Cameron, how many times do I need to tell you that I can dress myself and meet you downstairs?" He asked with a twinge of irritation in his voice as he stood facing the window.

He probably thought I was Cameron.

That was very much like Atlas to say.

My heart slowed as I sighed in relief...He was alright.

I slowly walked towards him

"Atlas" I called out quietly as I stood facing his back.

He turned around so fast at the sound of my voice.

"Lana?" He said my name looking at me as though he had just seen a ghost.

I gave him a small smile as he fast walked to me, his hands stretched out to me.

When he stood in front of me, he looked at me like he couldn't believe his eyes and I really didn't blame him for that.

He suddenly dropped his hand that had been inching to touch my face, clenching it into a fist as it rested by his side.

His shoulder dropped as he turned away from me.

I deserved that, I thought with saddened eyes as I now faced his back again.

"Why are you here?" He asked in a gruff voice.

I opened my mouth to say something but nothing seemed to come out in my anxious state.

I sighed before trying again.

"I wanted to come see you," I said quietly, facing the ground.

"Now you have seen me, you can leave" he said harshly.

"What!" I said quietly my eyes wide in surprise at his dismissal.

I had expected him to be angry but I just didn't expect to be thrown out before I could explain even though I knew I deserved it.

Turning around to face me, his eyes no longer held that soft look it always had when he looked at me.

That was bad.

For a moment, it felt like I had lost him.

"I said you can leave Lana. Wasn't that what you wanted when you left yesterday? I don't want your pity" he said, looking pointedly at me.

I stared at him with my mouth open in shock.

His anger, I understood but pity? Why would he think I pitied him?

"What are you talking about?" I asked and he scoffed at me.

"There is no need to pretend Lana. I know you know about my condition" he said, his voice softening towards the end.

"I know you know everything, isn't that why you ran? I mean, I knew I didn't deserve you but I damned tried to. I tried to deserve y-you" he muttered as his voice broke and his eyes reddened.

He turned his back to me again. He was putting his walls up again.

"You heard about everything and quickly agreed to run away. You didn't even have the courtesy t-to break up with me officially." He sighed
