"Andy do you wanna talk about it?" You ask him as you look over at him, his eyes are fixed on the road. You know he's suffering right now but he doesn't want to ruin your birthday "you don't have to keep pretending everything is okay" you say to him
He stops at a red light and looks at you "I'm fine. Just had to get out of the office. Plus you only turn 24 once lets just try and have fun" he smiles
"I don't want to force you into having fun" you say
"You're not forcing me into anything. I am fine. Now let talk about something else" he says and keeps driving.
You guys get to a sketchier side of town. You haven't been to this side before "Andy where are we going?" You ask him
"For ice cream" he says
"I know that but why here?" You asks as you look around. Surprisingly there are people awake walking around even kids playing this late at night.
It's like no one sleeps in this side of town.
"I used to live here when I was a kid. Ma used to work day and night while I stayed out here playing with my friends" he says
"You lived here?" You look around. It was clear this wasn't the nicest neighbourhood
"Yeah and this is where I got ice cream on my birthdays" he says as he parks the car. You look around and have a hard time believing Andy lived here. "I thought I could either live here for the rest of my life or make a name for myself" Andy says
"Wow Andy I never knew" you say "in fact there is a lot I don't know about you" you say
"Yeah I hide stuff from you on purpose. It keeps our marriage exciting" Andy says jokingly
"Yeah yeah" you role your eye as you hate when Andy keeps things from you
"Come on let's get ice cream and ill show you around" Andy says.
You two get up to the small ice cream shop and the guy working recognised Andy right away meaning Andy goes there a lot.
"Andy good afternoon or good morning? I see your brought a beautiful girl with you today" the guy says. Tho its late he's somehow in a good mood. Like he's up at night and sleeps during the day
"Hey Mason this is my Wife Y/n" Andy says as he firmly shakes Masons hand
"I didn't know you were married" Mason says
"Two years" Andy says proudly
"Andy's just full of secrets and surprises!" You say sarcastically and Mason laughs
"She's pretty and funny" He says
"I know that's why I love her" Andy says looking at you
"Now tell me brother what flavour do you guys want?" He asks Andy then looks at you
"What's good?" You ask not being able to choose between the 8 flavours he had.
"Everything" Mason says
"Mason I'll take the usual" Andy says.
You look at mason who takes a scoop of coconut ice cream and then a scoop of what looked like dark chocolate.
"Here you go. And for you?" Mason asks
"Strawberry please" you say with a smile
"Good choice" he says and makes a big scoop for you.
Andy pays and the two of you keep walking around "the usual. You come here often?" You ask him
"More then you think" Andy says "so did Laurie also talk to you?" Andy asks as he can't wrap his mind around what had just happened. Everything was going well with Matt and Andy, you were also starting to bond with Matt.
"She came by the house and told me. But I didn't know she was taking Matt from you like that" you say "I really am sorry for how things ended" you say
"Yeah me too. But maybe this is a good thing. I have time to focus on you, and only you now" you and Andy stop
"Yeah I guess so. But Andy you are allowed to be mad at this situation" you say to him "it is unfair that you raise Matt as your own and then Laurie just takes him form you" you say
"Yeah...." He stops talking. You could tell he's thinking about something. "Let's change the topic" he says "I know your graying to help but it's your birthday let's try and have fun" he says
You and Andy keep walking and then he stops at an old house. It was breaking down and had weed growing around it. "I used to live here" he says
"Really?" You asked surprise
"Yeah" Andy looks at the house and smiles "I used to stay up all night and playing football with my neighbour's" he says
"No school?" You ask
"No I never went to elementary. I went to a community college and got a full paid scholarship to law school" he explains "Ma convinced me to do it" he explains "that's why no matter what she dose or says I still love her. She sacrificed so much for me" Andy explains "if it weren't for her I would probably still live in this neighbourhood" Andy says
"And I would love you just as much then" you say to him
"Really? If I lived here?" Andy asks
"Of course I'm in love with you, not you wallet"
You say
Andy laughs lightly "what a relief" he says sarcastically
You jokingly slap his arm. You guys continue walking around the neighbourhood "and that's where I fell of my bike and broke my arm" Andy says
"Aww baby Andy breaking his arm" you say imagining Andy as a kid.
"I was pretty cute" Andy says "oh and this is the community college I went to when I turned 18" he says "what college were you in?" He asks
"Babe when you were in college I wasn't even conceived" you say to Andy
"Ew that sound weird" he says "am I that much older?" Andy asks
"Yeah and also much much hotter" you say to him. You both laugh then keep walking around
