Sunstone was awkward, really awkward. These dragons were different from him, and he'd never seen them or met them before. They were completely different tribes, different faces and personalities he hasn't learned about and analyzed and memorized.
He sat there, in the middle of his winglet, nervous. New faces, new dragons, ones that don't know me and might not like me and if they this somedragons weird right now it's probably me. No- no more of these thoughts, I gotta think positively. POSITIVE! Sunstones mind swirled.
After a while, Sunstone's disappointment of not being in his siblings winglet faded, but his nervousness of dragons liking him or not didn't.
He didn't want to think it, he didn't want to believe he was, but he was terrified. Terrified of what might come, how this year will go, how dragon will think of him. He tried to throw it out of his mind though, hoping to be able to enjoy this year at school.
They were led to their sleeping cave by an adult dragon that worked there. The cave was big and spacious, with a nice place for cooking and seven nice beds for the dragonets staying there.
Sunstone and his new clawmates walked in, looking at the nice room. The seawing and the rainwing didn't though, they looked as if they'd seen it all before. Maybe it's their second year here? Maybe thier fourth or fifth? Maybe they've seen it before, maybe they've already been here. Sunstone thought.
By the time they were separated into winglets, and got into thier caves, the night had crept in. It was about eight o' clock, and since Sunstone had woken up early, he was pretty exhausted.
"So you're the wingless dragon, huh?" The huge seawing asked. He looked at Sunstone, towering over him.
Sunstone sunk a little. "Y-yes. I'm Su-Sunstone." He said nervously. "Who- what's your name..?"
"Reef." He said, the initial menacing way he looked faded away, showing a kind looking hunk.
Sunstone nodded a little less intimidated.
"How's it like having no wings?" Asked the icewing. "I'm Snowbird, by the way." He said smiling, tilting his freckled head. Snowbird studied Sunstone, amazed by how his body was built.
"It's- well its-" Sunstone was cut off mid sentence by the little sandwing. He couldn't help but notice, she was very pretty. She had nice smooth looking hair, and a few freckles here and there, and sparkly blue eyes.
"I bet it kinda sucks, huh? It must be so crazy to have no wings! How do you fly?" She said wonderingly.
"I- I don't.." Sunstone said. He didn't like how close they were and how many questions they were asking and- his thoughts were soon cut off by the quiet nightwings voice.
"I understand what you're feeling right now." Said the nightwing. He had a lot of big scars, showing he most likely had a rough childhood. "I was born without a front leg. I know how it feels to be bombarded like that. Guys, give to poor guy some space." He said calmly. The nightwing walked up to Sunstone, shaking his talon. "I'm Lunarpool." He said. "Why doesn't everydragon who hasn't introduced themselves, go ahead now." He said.
The pretty little sandwing spoke up. "I'm Viper." She said.
"Hi Viper." Sunstone replied. He liked her personality. Her looks. What was this feeling. He was sort of drawn to her. He'd never felt it before. Was something wrong with him? Was he weird? He forgot about the thought, and it slowly fuzzled away to the back of his mind.
"Nice to meet you." He said.
"I'm Corroborre." The mudwing finally spoke up. "Nice to meet you Sunstone. I feel like I've seen you before but I can't put my talon on it."
"Well did you see a bright orange dragon that has no wings and looks different from the rest and is kind of just a lizard instead of a dragon?" He asked. He didn't mean to say that last part.. I kind of just... came out.
"You're not a lizard! You're a dragon like the rest of us." Viper said.
Sunstone liked Viper and her personality more by the second. "Thanks.." he said. The way her eyes shimmered, the way her personality is diverse and different, drawn him to her like a moth to a flame.
"Oh, I'm Radiance, the princess and daughter of queen iridecence of the rainwings." Radiance said regally.
"Wait- you're a princess?" Sunstone said amazed. "That's awesome!" He said his nervousness replacing a little bit with awe and wonder.
"Yes, I am." She said.
Sunstone happened to notice her pink, vibrant flower crown, and her glittery golden bracelets. "I see now." He said. He bowed to her. "Nice to meet you, Princess Radiance."
