Sunstone widened his eyes as Fortunestriker lunged at Viper.
Viper shrieked, her high pitched yelp reverberating through the stone halls.
Dragons popped their head out of doors, curious.
"I've seen him... he's probably going to do something to Nightshade!" Said a more paranoid than usual dragon.
"GRRRR TODAY IS BAD!!! I HATE YOU!" One shouted for no apparent reason.
"N- no... I- im- I'm going in the classroom!" One said fearfully.
Dragons behaving oddly for no reason? Nightshade? Fortunestriker following thier commands? But before Sunstone could think about these things, he quickly lunged in between the large nightwing and Viper, shoving her away into safety as fast as he could.
"WATCH OUT!" He bellowed as he jumped between them.
The large nightwing landed on him, clawing and growling.
"What is wrong with you? I could have took him!!" Viper said, distressed.
Sunstone was getting layed on top of by a large nightwing, and it was making it hard to breath, especially with him being small.
"Guh-.." he wheezed. "Protecting.. you..."
He looked at the nightwing. He struggled attempting to wiggle his pinned arm to stun him with.
"Don't kill him." Nightshade said.
Fortunestriker looked at him and nodded. He took a little bit of weight off of Sunstone and he took in panicked breaths, making up for the inability to breath earlier.
He panted loudly, and while Fortunestriker thought he was fatigued, he wiggled his arm out and slashed Fortunestriker across the face, leaving a nasty cut across his cheek and a bit on his snout.
He roared, backing up cluching his face in pain.
"I heard screams!" Corroborre bellowed from the classroom. "I'm going! If you guys are coming, Now is the time!!"
He skid out of the classroom, Lunarpool, Reef, And Snowbird came running out behind
Radiance and Viper whipped their head around to look at them.
Sunstone got up, still wheezing a little. He had a nasty cut on his shoulder from when Fortunestriker slashed him.
"Are you okay?" Viper said rushing to him.
He let out a little cough. "I'm fine.. the important thing is are you okay?" He said.
Viper helped him up, taking off her bandana on her neck and dabbed the blood of his shoulder, cleaning it.
"Now you don't have to do that.. it's a nice bandana.." he said guiltily about his blood getting on her bandana.
"It's even nicer when it helped you. Goofball, why'd you do that? You nearly gave me a heart attack!" She said.
He smiled, getting the fluttery feeling and blushing a little from her holding him. "If that nightwing would have landed on you you would have been crushed how small you are." He said teasingly.
She chuckled, her warm smile making Sunstone and to grab her and hug her and love her forever and never stop.
But before they could talk more (be gushy again), Nightshade let a low, menacing growl.
"EVERYONE WHO OBEYS ME, ATTACK!" He bellowed at the students in the other classrooms. About 17 or more dragons came out of the classrooms, mindlessly attacking Sunstone and his friends.
