"I was wandering the same thing that.."

Taehyung's breath caught in his throat the moment that deep, commanding voice echoed in the room. His heart skipped a beat as he slowly turned his head, realizing the voice belonged to none other than Jungkook. There he stood, his posture imposing and tall, a dark frown etched across his face. His jaw was set in a way that made him look more intense, more dangerous than before, and his lips twitched ever so slightly. His eyes, sharp and focused, held a strength that had not been there just moments ago. The vulnerability he had shown earlier had vanished in an instant, replaced by an overwhelming aura of dominance and authority that now filled the room

Jungkook's mocking tone cut through the air as he directed his question toward the male beside him "What is this criminal doing here, Kim Taehyung?" His voice was dripping with disdain, his gaze turning cold as he shot a glance at Taehyung, who stood frozen, unsure of how to respond. Aoi's expression twisted into something less than pleased, and for a fleeting moment, Taehyung felt a bizarre sense of relief seeing that Aoi wasn't happy

"I'm not a criminal, Jungkook" Aoi managed to say, his voice barely soft as the tension mounted in the room

Jungkook let out a small chuckle which was laced with bitterness "Brother, oh brother" he muttered mockingly, shaking his head "Being delusional isn't good for a lieutenant like you"

Aoi's smile turned dark, his gaze still fixated on Taehyung as if searching for something within the blank expression on his face. But the silence between them was shattered when Jungkook, standing only inches away from Taehyung, suddenly snapped his fingers in front of his face, forcing his brother to shift his attention back to him. Taehyung blinked, startled, only to find Jungkook glaring at the lieutenant with an intensity that sent shivers down his spine

"We can't respect a criminal, can we? Hyung?" Jungkook's voice was razor-sharp, cutting through the room like a blade

Aoi's jaw tightened, but his response came swiftly as his tone filled with venom "Burying a bullet in the skull of a pedophile who exploited my little brother isn't a crime, didn't you know?"

Jungkook raised an eyebrow, his expression smug "Like I said, being delusional isn't good for your profession. Despite knowing the truth years ago, you're still trying to justify your psychotic mindset?" He crossed his arms, his body language exuding confidence, while Aoi's face twisted into a grimace of barely controlled anger. He clearly did not want this confrontation, not after years of estrangement, but he was being forced into it

Aoi's lips curled into a sneer as he replied "I accepted that you're gay, but I can't accept that you're shameless enough to still keep contact with this pedophile"

Jungkook's eyes flashed with something dark and dangerous "Learned from you, hyung. The way you shamelessly ditched the law years ago, locking me in my room for weeks just because you were scared I'd testify against you"

Aoi's face flushed with fury, his composure slipping as he barked back "Whatever I did was just-"

"Stop right there" Jungkook's voice dropped, firm and unyielding, cutting his brother off before he could finish. His expression remained bored, but the tension in the room thickened as Aoi took a step forward, ready to enter the apartment. Jungkook's eyes narrowed. "Don't dare to come in. Can't really curse this place with your dirty feet, can I? Step back"

Aoi clenched his fists at his sides, barely containing his frustration. Humiliated, he inhaled deeply, trying to maintain his composure. He had spent months searching for Jungkook, desperate to reconnect with the brother who had cut ties with the family the moment he turned nineteen. And now, faced with this confrontation, he found it difficult to keep his anger in check. Swallowing his pride, he spoke calmly, though his voice trembled with barely suppressed rage
