The room was bathed in a soft, muted light, casting a comforting glow over the space. Byun sat comfortably in a large, plush armchair, a notepad resting on his lap, pen poised and ready to jot down every detail from their session. He gazed thoughtfully at Jungkook, who lay stretched out on a long, sleek sofa. The setting was serene yet imposing; the dark grey walls were thick and soundproof, making the chamber feel secluded from the bustling world outside. A large glass wall stood beside the sofa, offering a view of Seoul's late-night cityscape-its lights twinkling like stars on earth, cars weaving through the streets below

Byun's voice broke the silence, gentle yet probing "Do you love Kim Taehyung?" he asked, his tone careful, as if not wanting to disturb the delicate atmosphere

Jungkook remained silent for a few moments, staring up at the ceiling, his chest rising and falling in measured breaths. His gaze eventually shifted towards Byun, who was watching him with the intensity of someone who needed to uncover hidden truths. Finally, Jungkook spoke, his voice low but resolute "I do love him"

Byun leaned back slightly in his chair, eyes narrowing as he studied Jungkook's expression "Really?" he questioned, his words measured "Or are you just guilty of the past? Are you with him to build a real relationship, or are you just trying to lessen your own burden?"

Jungkook's lips tightened into a thin line, his eyes shifting back to the ceiling as he considered the weight of the question. His voice, when he spoke, was layered with complexity "Both. I'm trying to be with him for both reasons. I know I love him-I already fell in love throughout the years, and this love only intensified my desire to have Taehyung's forgiveness, to have his love too. This time, I want to be the adult who protects and loves Taehyung selflessly, like I should have"

Byun tapped his pen against the notepad, letting the words settle before responding "But what if he doesn't love you anymore? What will you feel, Jungkook?" He paused, taking a deep breath "Isn't it better to leave the person who doesn't want you in their life anymore?"

Jungkook's face tensed, a flash of emotion flickering in his eyes before he responded, his voice unyielding "It isn't. I know I love him, and I know I'm not going to pressurize him in any way. But I won't stop trying. Even if, one day, I see him holding someone else's hand-if I'm just one second away from watching their palms connect- still between that sceond I'll keep on trying"

His words left Byun momentarily speechless, the air in the room thick with the weight of Jungkook's determination. He glanced down at his iPad, fingers drumming absentmindedly against it as he processed the sentences.

Jungkook continued, a small, sincere smile tugging at the corners of his lips "If we love someone, we have to be patient and try to woo them, gain their trust and heart"

Byun leaned forward slightly, his gaze unwavering "Really?"

Jungkook nodded, his eyes softening. "Yes. Besides, it wasn't the ending that made me crave him-it was the story itself, hyung"
