I sat near the window. I thought to myself, this life I got is extremely abnormal. When will I become like those maids down there, moving naturally? When will I become like everyone else?

"I brought fruits from the royal kitchen.." Jessica came in, in a good mood. Her 'prince crush' came to visit her a few moments ago. "I got grapes, strawberries, mangoes, apples, and even bananas.. good for our skin.."

She threw me some. "thank you"

. Time passed by, It's already day 24. I can't believe I made it this far. Every morning I wake up, then I eat, then I read something, then I eat again, when someone's coming I hide, then I take a nap, then I eat again, then evening comes, then I sleep. It has been a pretty foreign life cycle for me, it's very dull. I stared at the clock all the time.

Oh well.. at least Jessica and I can stand talking for more than an hour now, it's a nice progress. I've, unconsciously, studied her. She's after all kind too, she's just not showing it properly.

Jericho always made himself busy joining the men who are after the gang. He went after them day after day. But, we see each other a lot. Even when he comes home late and tired, he always come here, in Jessica's room. Sometimes I wonder, how long will he stay like this?? When will he become really tired? When will he give in?? Because... me?.. I'm already passed my limits...

Anyway... With the smile of Jessica's lovely face, I sense it's gonna be a good day today..

"who are you?!!"

Until someone saw me in Jessica's room. You can't guess who. The king!!

"s—sire.." I stood speechless looking at his round, beardy face. He suddenly opened the door while Jessica was in the bathroom (when maids come they usually knock first. It's different now. He enters the door without warning at all!!). My hand shook and my overall being paled.

"D-dad!!!" Jessica quickly came to my rescue with her bathrobe. "w-what brings you here, all of a sudden?!!"

The firm king stared at my nervous feature. Then, his brow rose. "who are you?"

"i---..i-I'm..."

"she is Sarah.. d-daddy.." Jessica told him. She, too, paled. We both know what will happen when the king find out who I am. "s-she's my friend.."

He looked at me with clear suspicion. But, I'm sure the king haven't seen my face, ever, yet. Only the gang, Jericho, and Jessica knew that I'm Black. There is no way the king will recognize me.

"you've never bring any commoner to the palace ever, Jessica.. who is this lady? I'm quite certain, she is not a princess from some kingdom.. tell me the truth.."

King Jericho Alexander III is known for his wisdom. He's not easily fooled, indeed. Gosh!! What's with him?!!

"D-daddy..." it looked like Jessica's ideas are draining. Now. Goodluck. I'm in serious trouble.

"I brought her here, Dad." Jericho, the prince, showed up!! This is really one of those moments when I think he's kinda too appealing..

"you brought a lady in here?" the king turned to his son. "you brought all kinds of people in here, boy.. maids, guards, orphan children, widow old women, and now a beautiful young lady?"

I heard Jessica sighed.

"what are you planning to do with this castle??" he tapped the prince's shoulders.

"Dad.." Jericho IV looked serious. He held touched his father's hand. "I'd like to tell you something.."

The king's brow rose again. Jessica inhaled.

Jericho IV grabbed my hand and showed me to his father. "Father, I'd like you to meet Sarah Marie Heilen.."

I didn't have any idea what to do. I turned my head to Jericho IV and looked so confuse. What is he up to now?

"oh.." the king smiled "hello Sarah Marie.."

Then Jericho IV continued "she's my future queen.."
