"it's the mallows.." I insisted "it was too sweet.."
He smiled again. And stared.. "can I take you to the palace, tomorrow?.."
"e-eh??.. wh-why?!" my brows narrowed. What is he up to now? there is no way I could go in there.
"I know what you're thinking, Sarah..." he started to explain slowly "..but this place is not safe for you.. and also, it's not safe for Mrs Tinna and Flenn to get involved in this.." I was enlightened. He's right! "I can hide you in the palace, until I caught the Colardo Gang.. I got a sister in there, just your age.. she'll help us.."
"b-but.. the guard... they'll recognize me.."
"no one has seen your face before, right?.. they won't know.."
"b-but.." I'm scared. What if something will happen because of me. I can't face anyone in there anymore, after all that I did. I can't face Max, I can't face the king, or any maids.
Jericho touched my left arm gently. "hey.." he smiled "it's alright.. you're with me.."
My heart beat raced fast. I'm scared.
Jericho pulled me close to him, gently. He hugged me, very tight.
"hey prince..." I called him under his arm "why are you nice to me?.."
"I'm just naturally nice.."
"you don't even know me.. you don't know what I'm like.."
"should I have to know?"
"what if I'm just using you.. what if I'm just leading the gang to the palace?.."
"I know you're not..."
"how can you trust me?... how can you show me respect?..."
"I told you... it's natural... heh"
He let go.
Going to the palace?.. tomorrow?.. "then fine.." I told him "I'll be in my robes tomorrow.. sneaking to the palace again..." I smiled.
