Sorry for terrible uploading schedule. I'll try to write more and I have a lot of plans for this story. I'm having a hard time but I promise there's gonna be a lot of interesting things.
49 missed calls from Reita Toritsuka.
Saiki was studying this absurd number showing up on his phone screen, as it went up to fifty.
Good grief was he calling me all day?
He sighed and looked back. The boys didn't plan to visit the mall, but when Kaidou found out there were both Pokémon and Jump stores, he forced his friends to go there.
'We have Jump store in our city' he said when Kaidou proposed this idea.
"Well yeah" he agreed "But this one is bigger. The bigger the better, Saiki"
Kuboyasu choked on air before bursting with laugh. Unfortunately, Kaidou was too unaware of dirty jokes he had no idea what was so funny about his words. Later on, Kuboyasu tried to explain it. Hearing what his best friend had in mind, his face turned red within milliseconds.
And now, Saiki was standing in front of the Jump store, staring at his phone. He knew why Toritsuka was trying to contact him, but even if so, he was not interested in talking to him in the slightest.
As an introvert expert, he sent him a short text instead. The reply showed up after half a minute.
"Saiki, I looked everywhere.
Are you sure this wasn't a human?
Just because that guy had a knife instead of modern weapons doesn't mean he's that old.
I tried to look through every book I could find. Nothing about ghouls and stuff.Saiki, don't go crazy, please"
Kusuo read the message ten times. He didn't text anything in reply. He was confused and questioning everything. Was this guy a human? He wouldn't doubt anything if he could just read this guys mind.
Am I slowly going insane?
He felt a big lump creating in his throat, but quickly blocked all the negative feelings. He turned around and entered the store. His friends were about to leave soon, so he didn't have much time to look around.
He wanted to believe that Toritsuka was wrong. Maybe he didn't look precisely enough. Maybe half through reading those books, new hentai came out and he had to watch it immediately.
In reality, Saiki was begging the universe for any logical explanation. There had to be one. He just needed more time to figure it out.
Kusuo stood next to his friends in a queue. It was a middle of the day, so there was quite a lot of people.
"Why is this line so long?" Kaidou moaned holding way too many unnecessary stuff in his hands.
"I thought the longer the better" Kuboyasu laughed still amused by the previous joke.
"Not in this case!" Shun hit him with one of the mangas as blush appeared on his cheeks.
"Where were you bro?" Nendou asked as he put his hand on Saiki's shoulder.
I should have stayed outside.
'Don't touch me' he took a step back, still keeping a hold of his phone, when suddenly he felt vibration coming out of it. Saiki quickly took a look at the phone, this time hoping to see another call from Toritsuka, but was highly disappointed when he realized it was just his dad. He shoved his phone in the pocket of his hoodie, completely ignoring it for the rest of the day.
Kaidou was fully aware of potential consequences of spending so much money in one go, while he was still planning to visit more places, yet he decided to not care in the slightest, or use any common sense.
