People were walking around school hallways, too busy to pay attention to anyone except for themselves. Kaidou wasn't any different. He texted his friend as he walked slowly against the wall, so he wouldn't bump into anybody. He entered a classroom and still looking at his phone he automatically sat down. His long, fluffy hair effectively covered his ears, so teachers didn't noticed his earbuds. As he crossed his arms on the desk and put his head on them, he turned the volume up to almost the loudest. Lately he was convincing himself to listen to metal and other heavy music genres. He wanted to appear cool and mysterious, but what cool and mysterious kid listens to pop and indie, like he used to.
His academically smart head came up with a genius idea. This was their last day before summer break. As a 3rd grader of high school he realized that most of these breaks he spent mostly studying with occasionally meeting his friends. Just now he came up with a conclusion how it sounds rather pathetic. And for this reason he was dedicated to change it.
His eyelids suddenly felt really heavy. He was ready to fall asleep, when he felt somebody's hand on his shoulder. He got up in a second. After rubbing his eyes he saw his best friend waiting for him to fully awake.
"Well look who rose from the dead! Good morning Shun!" Kaidou felt patting on his back.
"Good to see you too, Aren" he replied only a little bit lifeless. Seeing his best friend after texting him for hour really got him up "I'm suffering here. These heats... I feel like my skin is melting"
Kuboyasu gave a quick look at Kaidou's bandages, but rather shut his mouth forever than point them out as the reason his friend felt so hot.
"Climate changes" he shrugged his shoulders "Don't worry buddy. It'll get worse every year"
"Well, I guess I'm gonna have to find some kind of cooling bandages" he straightened his arms in the air and looked at them "It should be easier to find than the warming ones"
Or you could just give up on these. There's no reason to hide your hands.
Kuboyasu wanted to slap himself, like if thinking of somebody's hands was the most ungodly thing he could possibly think of.
Not to do anything weird. I just wish I could hold these hands in mine. These bandages will hinder this experience. Not that I'm planning to hold his hands!
As he continued to have an internal fight, Kaidou thought it would be a good idea to share his concept for this summer break with Kuboyasu. He stood up and asked his best friend to lean over him, so he could whisper to his ear. It wasn't something illegal to do, nor there was anyone nearby he didn't want to hear this idea, but sharing it this way felt cooler and kept that mysterious vibe.
"Great, I'm gonna ask Saiki" Kaidou said with a smile and walked over to his other friend. Saiki tried his best to have a peaceful moment. He just got rid of Nendou, and the last thing he wanted was to someone interrupt him. Unfortunately, Kaidou wasn't aware of that. When he stood next to Saiki with a big smile, the last thing he would expect was to be greeted with the grumpiest facial expression he's ever seen. Not knowing, if he did something wrong, he decided to start a conversation on a different subject.
"Saiki! How's your day?"
'It barely started. How could I know?'
Kaidou laughed nervously, feeling heat on his cheeks. He scratched his neck but decided to not give up so quickly.
