"Wait here," Alex said as he got out of the car, walking around to open the door for Kevin. "Your Highness," he added, offering his hand.
"I'm not a prince," Kevin replied shyly, taking Alex's hand.
"You are!, you're my prince," Alex said, kissing Kevin's hand. Together, they walked towards the restaurant entrance.
At the reception, Alex spoke. "I have a reservation under Mr. Davis." The staff checked the computer and nodded.
"Please follow me," they said, guiding them to a table tucked in the corner, adorned with lavender and roses.
"Ring the bell when you're ready to order," the staff added, leaving them alone.
Alex gestured to the seat next to him. "Come sit next to me," he said. Kevin, without realizing it, was still holding Alex's hand as they both sat down.
"Alex, I've been meaning to ask you something. Can I?" Kevin said hesitantly, glancing at Alex.
"Ask me anything, love," Alex replied, his eyes soft and attentive. Kevin looked down at their hands. "Why me? Why ask me to date?"
Alex's eyes brightened as he smiled. "The day I first saw you, your smile—it was like magic. I've never felt so happy seeing anyone before, but with you, I knew I had finally found what love meant."
Kevin blinked, taken aback by the sincerity. "I want to ask you something too," Alex added.
Kevin nodded but struggled to form words. "You can ask me anything," he whispered, blushing.
Alex cupped Kevin's chin gently, lifting his face. "Can I be your boyfriend?" Alex asked softly, his gaze locking onto Kevin's.
Kevin's heart raced. His mind was swirling with emotions. "Yes," he whispered.
Alex beamed, his happiness undeniable. "Really? You've made me the happiest person ever." He leaned in slightly, glancing at Kevin's lips. "Love, can I kiss you?"
Kevin hesitated, his nerves getting the best of him. Alex began to pull back. "I didn't mean to rush you—" But before Alex could finish, Kevin leaned in and gave him a quick peck on the lips, then pulled back, his face flushed.
"That wasn't a kiss, love," Alex teased.
"How is it not? My lips touched yours, so it counts," Kevin replied, trying to hide his embarrassment.
Alex chuckled, cupping Kevin's face again. "Let me show you what a kiss really is." He closed the distance between them, pressing his lips softly to Kevin's, moving with slow, deliberate care. Kevin, although inexperienced, relaxed into the kiss, following Alex's lead until they were both breathless.
When they pulled apart, Alex kissed Kevin's forehead and whispered, "I love you, love. Please, be mine and only mine."
Kevin smiled, still catching his breath. "I will."
Alex grinned. "What's funny?" Kevin asked, noticing Alex's chuckle.
"Just thinking about how cute you are," Alex said, shaking his head with a laugh. "Now, what do you want to eat?"
Kevin pouted as he picked up the menu. "Stop teasing me, or I might not survive with your sweet talk."
"You'll get used to it," Alex grinned. "Exclusive for you."
Kevin flipped through the menu and smiled when he found his favorite dish. "I want the chicken steak and chocolate chip cookies," he said, looking at Alex. "What about you?"
"I'll have mac and cheese," Alex replied, ringing the bell. After the staff took their order, they were left alone once more.Kevin, blushing again, glanced up. "There's something I love to do, but don't laugh."
"Tell me. I promise I won't laugh," Alex said, curious.
"I love cooking and reading," Kevin admitted, looking away shyly.
Alex gently turned Kevin's chin to face him. "I'd love to eat something you cook and read a book with you," he said, making Kevin blush even harder.
"Will you always flirt like this?" Kevin asked.
"Always," Alex promised. "Now, tell me what you love to do," Kevin asked in return.
"I like drawing," Alex replied. "I've even drawn a few pictures of you."
Kevin looked surprised. "Your parents... they don't mind?"
Alex chuckled. "As long as the person loves me, they're happy."
Kevin smiled, though a little sadness flickered in his eyes. He wished his own parents were that accepting.
Their food arrived, and Alex scooped a spoon of mac & cheese, offering it to Kevin. "Try this. Is it good?"
Kevin took the bite and smiled. "It is."
Kevin, in turn, fed Alex a bite of his own meal, and they continued the evening in quiet happiness, sharing their dinner and enjoying the time together.
Later, Alex parked the car at the school's gate, "Are you sure? I can drop you at your place," Alex offered.
Kevin shook his head. "I'll manage. See you tomorrow." He quickly leaned in, gave Alex a shy peck on the lips, and exited the car, waving as he walked away.
Alex watched him go, grinning like a fool. "I'm trapped in love's magic," he muttered to himself. "You're mine now, love. Mine forever."
