Alex had spent weeks planning the perfect date for Kevin. He had originally intended to pick him up after school, but impatience got the better of him. He hadn't seen Kevin all day, and not receiving any kisses was just too much. Parking the car in front of the scenic escape he had planned, Alex turned to look at Kevin, who was softly snoring in the seat next to him. A warm smile spread across Alex's face as he leaned in and gently blew on Kevin's face, causing him to stir.
Kevin slowly opened his eyes, blinking as the last remnants of sleep faded. "Are we here?" he asked groggily.
"Yes, love," Alex whispered with a soft smile. "Wait here." He quickly got out, walked around the car, and opened Kevin's door with a gentlemanly flourish, offering his hand for him to hold.
Kevin stepped out, mesmerized by the view in front of him. The setting sun cast a golden glow over the cozy cabin nestled in the woods, surrounded by tall trees that made the place feel secluded and intimate. "Where are we?" he asked, taking in the serene beauty around him.
"This is my secret hideaway," Alex replied. "No one knows about this place except my parents and me. It's hidden deep in the forest, far from everything. A place for just the two of us."
Kevin's heart swelled as he realized the lengths Alex had gone to for this moment. "So, you drove hours just for a date?" Kevin teased softly.
"I'd go to the moon and back for you," Alex replied with a grin before gently pulling Kevin towards him. He leaned in and kissed Kevin, a slow, passionate kiss that conveyed everything he felt. When they parted, Alex smiled against his lips. "I love you so much," he whispered. "I hope this date makes you fall for me even more."
Kevin smiled back, his heart racing. "I hope so too," he teased, though deep down he was already hopelessly in love with Alex. His mother had always told him to play hard to get to see if someone's love was true, but Kevin was already planning to end the game. Their six- month anniversary was just around the corner, and Kevin had already fallen completely.
"Come on," Kevin said excitedly, tugging on Alex's hand. "Let's go inside."
They stepped through the door, and Kevin gasped. The cabin was transformed into a romantic paradise—red rose petals scattered across the wooden floor, soft candlelight flickering from the dinner table, and a large projector set up in front of a plush couch. The atmosphere was cozy yet intimate, the kind of scene that took Kevin's breath away.
Alex let go of Kevin's hand and disappeared into another room, returning moments later with a tray holding a bottle of wine and two glasses. He placed the tray down on the table, looking a little shy. "I hope it's romantic enough. It's the best I could come up with," he said, scratching the back of his neck.Kevin was speechless. "Alex... How did you—" Words failed him. He stared at the setup, unable to believe that someone would do something so thoughtful and perfect just for him.
Without another word, Kevin stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Alex, hugging him tightly. "I love this. I love everything you've done for me. I swear, one day I'll find a way to return all this love to you." He looked up, their faces inches apart, and kissed Alex gently on the lips.
"I'll wait," Alex murmured against Kevin's lips, his hand finding its way to the back of Kevin's neck. His thumb grazed Kevin's lower lip, tugging it slightly before letting go. "Even if it takes years, I'll wait.... Can I kiss you?"
Kevin's breath hitched. "You never have to ask," he whispered before closing the distance between them. Their lips met again, this time slower, more tender. Alex's hand slipped down from Kevin's neck to his waist, pulling him closer. Kevin's fingers tangled in Alex's hair as they kissed deeply, savoring the moment as though time had slowed just for them.
When they finally pulled away, their foreheads rested against each other, their breaths still mingling. Alex gazed into Kevin's eyes, his voice soft as he said, "Your eyes are as blue as sapphires. I lose myself in them forever."Kevin smiled, his heart fluttering. "And yours? Like rich chocolate— warm, deep, and something I crave every day."
They chuckled softly, breaking the spell just enough to keep things light. Alex stepped back, clicking a button on the couch. The bottom half elevated, turning it into a plush bed for two. "What movie do you want to watch, love?" he asked, pouring the wine and handing Kevin a glass.
"Anything is fine with me," Kevin replied, settling into the couch-turned-bed, his head resting comfortably on Alex's shoulder.
Alex smirked playfully. "Anything, huh?" His teasing tone made Kevin blush. "Not like that!" Kevin protested, looking down shyly.
Alex chuckled, pulling him closer. "I'm just messing with you. Let's find something we'll both enjoy." He scrolled through the options and finally settled on a romantic movie, perfect for the evening's mood. They clinked their glasses together.
"Cheers," Alex said with a smile, and they both took a sip, content in each other's presence.
As the movie played, Kevin slowly drifted off again, his head resting on Alex's chest. By the time the credits rolled, Kevin was fast asleep, and Alex gently stroked his hair, feeling content. He glanced at the clock and sighed softly.
"Love, let's freshen up and head back. We have school tomorrow," Alex whispered, though he hated to disturb Kevin's peaceful slumber.
Kevin groaned sleepily, snuggling closer. "Can't we skip tomorrow?" he mumbled, his pout making Alex smile.
"As much as I want to, we can't stay here overnight," Alex replied, his voice soft. "I don't trust myself enough," he added, his lips brushing Kevin's ear with a playful whisper.
Kevin blushed, pulling away slightly. "I'm not—"Before he could finish, Alex wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling him close once more. "I know, love. I'd never rush you or push you into anything." He kissed Kevin's temple gently, reassuring him with his touch.
They both stood and freshened up, the romance of the evening lingering between them as they made their way back to the car. The drive back to the city felt quieter, but not in a bad way—there was a peacefulness, a deep understanding between them that words couldn't quite capture.
