Prologue: Deep Into Thought

Narrator's Pov

A certain raven-haired boy and your favorite honey-blonde girl are pondering about each other. Ash is now 17, and Serena is also 17. 

Ash's Pov

'Good Night, Pikachu,' I said.

Pikaaaa! said Pikachu.

*sighs* 'I've seen pretty much everything there is to be seen in this world.' 'Even after becoming a Pokémon Master, I still feel empty inside.'  'What am I missing?' 'And maybe.... who am I missing?' 'There's no one I can particularly remember of from all my traveling companions that I could be...'

And that's when it hit me.  'Serena.' I couldn't understand what I was thinking. 'She said she'd get better, just for me...' 'But why?' 'Ever since she kissed me on the escalator, I couldn't help but think what it meant.' 'I had just brushed it off, like I would normally...' 'But now I can't stop thinking about her.' 'Agh, what was that word called again?' 'Uhh, rodeo? Ronald? Reconnaissance?' That's when the gears spinning in my head clicked. 'Romance' Or better yet, love. *sighs again* 'Pikachu, what do you think?' Pikachu was sound asleep. 'Well, can't blame him.' Ash went back to sleep, unbeknownst of what he truly WAS missing.

Serena's Pov

'Good Night, Sylveon,' I said.

Syllll! said Sylveon, wrapping her feelers around Serena, since she was a bit lost in thought and seemingly worried about something.

'Don't worry, Sylveon.' I'm fine.

'Ash... do you even like me?' she thought. 'You were always so dense and oblivious.' 'You couldn't understand all my indirect ways of loving you.' 'Yet I feel like somewhere, deep down in your heart... you like me back.'

'Ever since we kissed on the escalator, I've been worried to know how you've felt.' 'I said I would meet you again, as a better performer.' And while we did meet again in Hoenn... you didn't really get to do much with me seeing how you were already leaving.' 'Oh, Ash...'

Narrator's Pov

As the raven-haired boy and the honey-blonde girl were going to sleep, they coincidentally said something at the same time.

'Why do I miss you so much?' they both said.

And as the moon kept shining, Serena and Ash were both sound asleep, thinking about what to do next.

Ash made up his mind and was going back to Kalos next week to meet back with Serena Yvonne, the one, (and only) love of his life, even though he didn't realize just yet.

Meanwhile, Serena planned to stay in Kalos and hang out with some of her old friends, just like the old times.

They both knew what they wanted to do, and were eagerly awaiting the future in front of them.
